A Sapphire and Diamond Three Stone Ring, the yellow plain polished band inset with an oval cut sapphire and two round brilliant cut diamonds, total estimated diamond weight 0.40 carat approximately, finger size U1/2It is stamped '750' and in our opinion would test as gold. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour I/J/K, clarity SI2/I1/I2. Gross weight 11.8 grams.

Note: William Bilbie is a recorded clockmaker working in Chewstoke, Somerset, circa 1757.

Note: Thomas Hughes is a recorded London clockmaker, apprenticed to his father in 1734 and made free of the Clockmakers Company in 1742. He died in 1785.

Note: James Bucknell I, II and III and William Bucknell were a recorded family of Devon clockmakers working in Crediton from 1756 to 1833.
