A large and impressive late 19th French gilt bronze mantel clock case, unsigned, no movement, the chapter ring with porcelain blue Roman numerals, entwined with snakes and salamanders, beneath is a Satyr with bat above, bird, salamander, and two rodents to the sides, beneath is Cupid with sea serpents, two the left is Cupid teasing a hounds with a bunch of grapes, to the right is another Cupid teasing a hound with a bird, beneath are move allegorical scenes, 57 x 48 x 18cm. Overall condition is good some wear to the gilt, very dusty, very high quality work, most late 19th century French clock movements should fit Cupid on the left side is missing the blade to his dagger (see picture added to main listing)There are several areas of gilt surface loss (as can be seen in the pictures)No other issues.
