The inscription reads James Miller Gibson-Watt Esq on his coming of age Sept 6th 1896 by the Tenantry, Tradesmen and Employees on the Doldowlod Boatside and New Radnor Estate.

The eight inch (20 cm) square brass dial having decorative spandrels to the corners and engraved featherbanding encircling the chapter ring, with a ringed winding hole and bob pendulum aperture to the matted centre. The single fusee movement with engraved and signed back plate having verge escapement and striking two bells with an hour and quarter repeater. 17 ins (43 cms) in height.
