Birbeck, the cup and saucer with differing maker's marks, a Continental coffee cup and saucer painted with floral sprays, an early 19th century coffee can painted with purple flowers, an ironstone coffee can with moulded and printed detailing, a Coalport gilt and blue coffee can, a Continental jug, a Spode Imari pattern scent bottle and stopper and a 19th century Rockingham style sugar bowl and cover (14).Additional InformationThe Davenport plate with some minor rubbing to the gilding at the edge but essentially good but the bat wing cup does not ring, perhaps with a little glazing, the bat wing saucer with a few light glaze scratches, the George Jones saucer with some rubbing to the gilding, the cup with minor rubbing, both are clearly signed, the Spode scent bottle and stopper with age wear rubbing to the gilding around the rim and the foot and also to the stopper, the scent bottle is moulded with a bird sitting on a perch, the early 19th century coffee can has hairline cracks and crazing to the base and some staining in the glaze to the base, it also has a hairline crack to one side, the moulded ironstone coffee can is slightly irregular in shape and with general light age wear, the Continental coffee cup and saucer and similar jug with general rubbing to the gilt detailing throughout, the sugar bowl and cover with three small chips to the internal edge of the rim and some rubbing to the gilt detailing.
A late 19th century Staffordshire figure group of two toppers, height 21cm, with four glass fishing floats, a Bretby model of a cat, a Royal Doutlon flow blue loving cup, a silver mounted glass jug and a French glass vase (9).Additional InformationThe Staffordshire group is damaged; the arm of the figure in the red cloak, the hand where it joins the lantern and the lantern where is joins the knee of the figure have all been broken at these three points. General rubbing to the enamels throughout. The four glass floats with some light surface scratches but otherwise OK. The silver mounted jug is tarnished with many small knocks and scratches to the silver rim. The loving cup is finely crazed throughout and does not ring true. The Bretby cat has an old chip to one ear which has been coloured in, rubbing and some nibbles throughout. The glass vase with wear and scratches commensurate with age.
A 19th century Royal Naval short arm, the blade with etched decoration featuring crests and fouled anchor with star of St David to base, blade length 47.5cm, the guard with acorn finials and further fouled anchor to wirework leather grip, the hilt terminating in lion head with ring, with brass mounted leather scabbard.Provenance: The Captain Allan Marshall Collection.Additional InformationSome rubbing to the etched detail, some loss in definition of detail. A production fault to the guard, where there is a small crack, further scuffs, scrapes and general wear.
WINTERHALDER & HOFMEIER; an early 20th century German mahogany dome top repeating bracket clock, the matted brass dial with a silvered Roman numeral chapter ring beneath three subsidiary dials, one for chime and silent, one to regulate speed and one to select the gongs, with eight day twin barrel movement striking on eight gongs, the case with demi-fluted corners, pilasters and brass paw feet, height 45cm, width 34cm, depth 25cm.Additional InformationCurrently running although this is no guarantee of working order, the case with general light scuffs and scratches throughout consistent with age, the veneer to the bottom right hand corner of the door has an old crack and has lifted slightly, there is a chip to the bevelled glass of the front door at about 1 o'clock and some marks to the wood here also, there is smaller chip to the edge of the bevelled glass towards the bottom right corner, the brass dial with some scratches and general wear, the material behind the side fret panels has faded from a red to a beige, general tarnishing to brass mounts throughout, the wood of the bevelled door is a slightly different colour and a different finish to the varnish.
