No pitting to the bores. Barrels ring when tapped. Barrel to action fit is tight when closed with no wobble. Signs of wear from use such as wear to the bluing, mainly around the trigger guard. Scratches to and marks to the stock mainly around the comb of the stock, refinishing this area of wood would make this gun look a lot better but it is presentable as it is.

T. & W. Harrison 12 bore percussion double barrel shotgun, with 29 inch Damascus barrels, chequered stock with vacant escutcheon, scroll engraved action, fitted into a period oak case in need of repair.Section 58(2) Antique /obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence.Condition report: The gun is generally in good order with working actions and nice presentable patina. The metalwork has light overall pitting. the stock has the usual scuffs and marks from use. There is a deep scratch near the butt plate. The wood and lockplate have a recently scuff on the left-hand side where a screwdriver or tool has been forced into the case to break it open (hence the damage to the case). I suspect this gun may have been on licence and has not been properly cleaned. A jag and then patches return with thick rust coloured greasy grim but following this work look shinny. There are a couple of shadows in the bore which are probably light pitting. Without a large amount of cleaning it cannot be guaranteed that the bores are completely free of pitting. The barrels have been rebrowned but externally look in good order. There is a strange dark coloured patch on the outside of the left tube see images uploaded. I think this could be a dent that has been lifted as there is a corresponding shadow ring to the inside of the bore in a similar area to this dark patch.
Enfield .650 percussion cavalry carbine, 21 inch barrel fitted with fixed sights and swivel ramrod, Tower VR crown stamped lock dated 1858, stock with arsenal stamp and fitted with saddle ring and bar.Section 58(2) Antique /obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence.Condition report: Action works correctly and holds half and full cock. The gun has had a hard working life but has a nice patina which would improve with a bit of polishing. The stock has numerous knocks and marks, there are a couple of very short splits beside the lock plate but they do not look serious. The edges of the ramrod channel are chipped and worn. The metalwork has light pitting overall.

The barrels are free from dents and the bores have no pitting, they ring true when tapped. The action to barrel fit is tight. The stock has a few minor marks but nothing defacing. There has been a sticker on the butt and it is sticky where this has been taken off but getting rid of the stickiness should not be a problem. We do not have outside wall measurements. Bone barrels ring true when tapped. Both barrels have light dents to the tops around the middle of the tubes. These cannot be felt and can only be seen when sighting down the barrels from the muzzle with a strong light casting across them. Both barrels have light pitting ahead of the forcing cone. There are patches of deeper pitting between the middle of the barrels and the muzzle which I do not think would polish out. The barrels have been cut down and a rear sight added. The barrels are tight on the face with only the slightest gap on the right side which does not let light through. There is no wobble between barrels and action with and without the forend removed. There are some dents to the stock behind the hammers and some dents and wear to the chequering on the forend. The forend cap is detached and the original missing, a bone replacement is present.
