A SHARPS .52 'NEW MODEL 1863' BREECH-LOADING PERCUSSION CAVALRY CARBINE, serial no. 95121, with 22in. sighted barrel, action with self-priming back-action lock, walnut half-stock without patch-box, iron saddle-bar and ring, and iron mounts (some pitting to iron parts throughout).
A CASED 160-BORE J.R. COOPER'S PATENT SIX-SHOT PERCUSSION UNDER-HAMMER PEPPERBOX REVOLVER, Mid-19th century, 7 1/2in. overall, with slightly tapering fluted barrel-block engraved with a band of foliage at the muzzles and numbered respectively from '1' to '6', border engraved action signed 'J.R. COOPER'S PATENT' within a spray of foliage, ornate ring-trigger, thumb-piece safety, and finely chequered grips (cleaned bright overall), Birmingham proof marks, in lined and fitted mahogany case , possibly original, with some accessories including 'WD' iron pincer-type bullet mould, wad-cutter and brass-mounted copper pistol-flask, the exterior with shaped brass escutcheon.
A VERY RARE .62 BREECH-LOADING FLINTLOCK CAVALRY CARBINE BY DURS EGG, LONDON, Circa 1786, with 24in. (not including breech) sighted barrel rifled with eight grooves, tip-up hinged breech-block signed 'DURS EGG' with hinged pivoting locking catch, flat bevelled Hennem lock with 'GR' cypher and 'TOWER' on the tail (small repair to cock, jaw-screw replaced), walnut three-quarter stock stamped with a storekeeper's mark dated '1786' and the letters 'R.W.B.', brass mounts including trigger-guard with raised finial to house the tip of the spear bayonet when not in use, iron saddle-bar and ring, London proof marks. Other Notes: These unusual carbines were copied from a design by Guiseppe Crespi of Milan used between 1770 and 1779 by Austrian cavalry. They were trialed by the 7th, 10th, 11th, 15th and 16th Light Dragoons in 1786 although not reported on until 1788. The reports were in favour of the rifled carbines (some trial pieces had been smoothbores) but further experiments never took place.
A .65 EAST INDIA COMPANY FLINTLOCK SERVICE PISTOL, Early 19th century, 15 3/4in. overall, with 9in. barrel, rounded lock with EIC lion mark beneath the pan (cock an old replacement), walnut three-quarter stock (large repair to butt) marked 'M / 388' on the butt, brass mounts, iron lanyard ring, and spring held stirrup-ramrod (iron parts with some surface corrosion), London proof marks, stockmaker's mark 'BARNETT'.
A U.S. .50 MAYNARD PATENT SECOND MODEL BREECH-LOADING PERCUSSION CAVALRY CARBINE, serial no. 12760, Circa 1864, with 20in. blued sighted two-stage barrel struck with the letters 'G.W.S.' on the left side at the breech, case-hardened action marked 'EDWARD MAYNARD / PATENTEE. / MAY 27. 1851 / DEC. 6. 1859' on the left side and 'MANUFACTURED BY / MASS. ARMS CO. / CHICOPEE FALLS' on the right side, iron saddle-bar and ring, walnut butt, and much original finish throughout.
A U.S. .54 FIFTH MODEL BURNSIDE PATENT BREECH-LOADING PERCUSSION CAVALRY CARBINE, serial no. 15629, Circa 1864, with 21in. sighted barrel, action with pivoting breech-block and marked 'BURNSIDE PATENT / MODEL OF 1864' on the top flat, back-action lock marked 'BURNSIDE RIFLE CO. / PROVIDENCE. R.I', iron saddle-bar with ring, walnut half-stock (some bruising) with feint inspector's mark on the left side of the grip, and rear iron sling mount (some discolouration throughout).
A RARE U.S. .53 GREENE PATENT BREECH-LOADING PERCUSSION UNDER-HAMMER OVAL-BORE SERVICE RIFLE, Circa 1860, with 36in. blued barrel sighted to 800 yards and retained by three spring-held barrel-bands, blued receiver and tang, the latter with bolt-release button and marked 'GREENE'S PATENT / NOV. 17. 1857', walnut three-quarter stock, blued trigger-guard, ring under-hammer, iron sling mounts, iron cleaning rod, and much original faded finish, together with a socket bayonet with 18in. blade of triangular section, the forte marked 'J.D.G.'. (2) @Footnote: Other Notes: Approximately 4,500 of these rifles were made by A.H. Waters Armory, Massachusetts from 1859 until the early 1860s. 1,500 of the rifles were sold in the U.S., 900 of these being purchased by U.S. Ordnance. The remaining 3,000 fulfilled a Russian government contract.

A .28 FIVE-SHOT PERCUSSION PEPPERBOX REVOLVER BY ROBBINS & LAWRENCE CO., WINDSOR, serial no. 3961, Circa 1852, 7 1/2in. overall, with turn-off fluted barrel-block marked 'ROBBINS & LAWRENCE CO. / WINDSOR. VT. / PATENT 1849', tip-down hinged breech-block engraved with scrollwork, scroll engraved action with internal rotating hammer, ring trigger with button release on back-strap, and walnut grips (some surface pitting throughout).

D'ARMES / ST. ETIENNE' on the right side, chequered walnut grips, iron lanyard ring (some scattered spots of discolouration throughout).
A VERY RARE 5mm BERGMANN PATENT 'MODEL 1896 NO.2' SELF-LOADING POCKET PISTOL WITH FOLDING TRIGGER BY VALENTIN SCHILLING, SUHL, serial no. 278, 6 3/4in. overall, with blued octagonal sighted barrel, blued slide, bolt and frame, the left side of the frame marked 'PATENT / BREVETE / S.G.D.G.', the right side with maker's mark of a miner with 'GAGGENAU / V.C.S. / SUHL', bright folding trigger with slight traces of straw finish, hammer retaining some faded straw finish, chequered walnut grips, iron lanyard ring, and some original finish throughout (some small scattered patches of pitting). Other Notes: Approximately 2,000 Bergmann pistols were made with less than 500 being pocket models, the present example being an early version.

Other Notes: Only 1,002 of these seven shot carbines were order by Government contract in 1864. The carbines were delivered May 1865 but did not see active service in the Civil War.

wINCHESTER .30-30 (WIN.) 'MODEL 1894 COWBOY COMMEMORATIVE' LEVER-ACTION REPEATING CARBINE, serial no. CB1931, 20in. blued sighted barrel marked 'COWBOY COMMEMORATIVE', bright action engraved with rope and pair of spurs on the right side and a rodeo rider and the legends 'BOLD MEN' and 'BRAVE LAND' on the left side, blued saddle-ring, 13 1/4in. stock set with a commemorative medallion on the right side of the butt and with an applied plaque engraved in German on the left side.
A George III oak and mahogany longcase clock, with swan's neck pediment above the arched glazed door flanked by simple pillars enclosing the 13.25ins. arched brass dial by Edward Barlow, Oldham with moon phase, foliate spandrels, silvered chapter ring and subsidiary seconds dial with eight day striking movement, the case with arched crossbanded trunk door flanked by fluted columns and with conforming base raised on bracket feet, height 93ins. This clock has had the movement recently restored at a cost of some £500 (receipt available). (see illustration)
