Fitted with uncommon (early?) bright chrome barrel, chrome outer ring version Taylor Hobson 2 inch f2 Anastigmat lens #328900 with matching 3-figure number (900) to barrel. RARE Early Reid IIIa Camera #P1012. With production numbering starting at P1000 (or possibly P1001) only 3 earlier serial numbers have so far been recorded (see our unique list at tinyurl.com/yalfkkv6). Top plate shows the original wording 'Reid & Sigrist Ltd. LEICESTER' without the later 'Eng.' suffix. Minor bright marks to top and bottom plates. (shutter blinds very slow/sticking until advance knob is turned, hence condition 6H). Fitted with an early bright chrome barrel, chrome outer ring version Taylor Hobson 2 inch f2 Anastigmat lens #328696 with matching 3-figure number (696) to barrel. Reid IIIa Camera with RARE Early (unknown?) Taylor Hobson Type Lens. Camera #P3049 has a Minor bright marks to top and bottom plates. (shutter blinds sticking, often inoperative until advance knob is turned, hence condition 6H). Fitted with a very unusual, 2 inch f2 collapsible SM lens. Lens shows no makers name on the (unusual) black rim, just the serial number 306329 & description. There is no indication that other markings have been removed. When collapsed the letters "N K" show on the barrel which would indicate at least this part of the lens was originally made by Nikon, but it differs in appearance to other Nikon RF lenses. It tapers to the front, with no 'tab' on the aperture rim. It is marked with an unusual infinity symbol down to 3.5 feet, but the ring does move past this figure a little. Apertures run from f2 down to f16, with the '6' of 16 being very slightly different to most Nikon markings. The apertures run counter-clockwise, the opposite way to other Nikon RF lenses with the indicator arrow in black. When fitted to a Reid, Leica, Leotax, or Nicca the infinity lock ends up at around the 11 o'clock position instead of around the expected 7 o'clock position. No other examples of this type of lens can be found. (JVC).
