RHODES, Æ, c. 31 BC-AD 60, head of nymph Rhodos (Alektrona ?) right, wearing radiate stephane and single pendant ear-ring, rev. Nike advancing left, holding aphlaston and stylis, prow to left in left field, 4.82g/12h (cf. RPC 2771; cf. SNG Keckman 773; cf. SNG Copenhagen 901-2; cf. BMC 391-3). Good very fine, fine dark green patina, very rare and of fine Hellenistic style

The brass dial having an inset silvered roundel to the arch finely engraved with an armorial crest and flanked by scrolling winged dolphin mounts with decoratively cast sphinx spandrels adorning the corners. The chapter ring encircling a matted centre incorporating a calendar aperture . The twin fusée movement with verge escapement striking two bells and having an ornately engraved back plate with scrolling flowers and a draped banner inscribed Josephus Pryor Fecit. The walnut case enriched with carved & gilded embellishments; the cavetto moulded dome top surmounted by a Rococo cartouche and trailing foliage; the canted sides headed by shell crests festooned in pendant garlands; the base adorned with scrolling husk flowers and raised on turned & ebonised feet 20½ ins (52 cms) in height.
A Splendid Italian/Dutch Repoussé Copper Cistern Circa 1700. The oval vessel having a rolled rim with rope-twist impressions above a beaded collar and gadrooned sides. Each each fitted with a lion mask bearing a twisted ring handle in it`s mouth. Standing 16½ ins (42 cms) in height on stylised animal feet. 38 ins (97 cms) in width, 27½ ins (70 cms) in depth.
A Fabulous Early 18th Century English Oak & Burr Oak Veneered Lowboy of Small Proportions, Circa 1720. The top inlaid with boxwood and ebony stringing and having a moulded edge above a shaped apron accommodating three small drawers; each inlaid with stringing and fitted with a small brass ring handle. The round turned legs tapering down to pad foot terminals, 27½ ins (70 cms) high, 28¾ ins (68 cms) wide, 16¼ ins (41 cms) deep.
An Unusual Oak Drop Leaf Joint Stool-Table. The oval top rotates from a central pivoting handle to allow the leaves to rest upon the side rails and measures 24½ ins x 19 ins (62 cms x 49 cms). The ring turned baluster & ball legs joined by peripheral stretchers. Standing 18½ ins (97 cms) high on block feet.
