1929 Rudge-Whitworth SpecialMake: Contact AuctioneerModel: Contact AuctioneerYear: 0Mileage: 0VIN: 34488Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: WO 2676Transmission: Contact AuctioneerIf you want to acquire an up-and-coming film star, this could well be your chance. This 1929 Rudge-Whitworth Special has come direct from a film company, where its most recent role was in a forthcoming drama based on Agatha Christie's novel Why Didn't They Ask Evans? It is due to be broadcast in 2022, starring Hugh Laurie, Jim Broadbent and Emma Thompson, among others. The Rudge was used as the main 'hero' bike in the production. Not much is known of the Rudge's past, but when found in a shed in 2007, it was in need of restoration. This was carried out, with the cost of the parts and work coming to over £6800, including the purchase price. What was done has been itemised in the paperwork file. There are pictures of the rebuild, which was completed in in 2008. Further work was done in 2012 to make the Rudge even more faithful to standard spec, including a cylinder head overhaul. As well as the V5, there’s a selection of tax discs dating back to 1934, along with a ring binder of bills and sundry paperwork dating back to the restoration, and going forward from there. The MoTs date back to 2008, when the bike was restored. The current odometer reading is 343 miles, although it is unclear if this was reset when the restoration work was done.
