One of 15 UK and 75 WorldwideFull race replica of the 2016 British SuperbikeBMW has unveiled a special edition S1000RR specifically for the UK market. To be produced in a limited run of just 75 units, this S1000RR race replica came wrapped in the official Tyco livery of BMW’s BSB (British Superbike) Championship race bike. The special edition bike not only got the livery of the factory team but also came decked up with a host of performance parts. Dynamic damping control, dynamic traction control, forged wheels, Akrapovic slip-on canister and gear shift assist pro system. All these performance enhancements make this special edition bike the most extreme S1000RR that could be bought in the UK. BMW also offered adjustable rear sets from the HP4, LED indicators, heated grips, alarm and a paddock stand along with the motorcycle. BMW claimed that the tricked-up machines are the highest ever spec S1000RRs to go on sale in the country.The Tyco BMW Race Replica was available through regular BMW dealers on a first come, first served basis. One of just 15 for the UK market and 75 worldwide. A lot of money for sure but promised to be the closest thing to a British superbike for the road that you can buy for entry to the 200hp club. This example boasts just eight miles from new but has been serviced, maintained and regularly started so should not require any recommissioning to ride. Presented in the Tyco livery a bike that was raced by Tyco trio Ian Hutchison, Christian Iddon and Michael Laverty in 2016. It’s svelte and modern, Bruno Sacco penned lines were more suited to an exciting, new age when it was eventually launched. Demand was high and owners often had a wait for several years for delivery. In 1997, Mercedes-Benz commemorated the 40th anniversary of the first 300 SL Roadster by offering two limited-edition models: Firstly, the SL 500 with exactly 500 models built and, much rarer, the SL 320 with only 250 units built. These cars were distinguished not only by their special paint options but also by an interior trim which was not available on other models. A particularly soft grey leather was used contrasting well to the royal maple interior trim, a truly unique wood with a marble-like appearance.This example features the 3.2 litre, six-cylinder engine electronically governed to a top speed of 155mph through a five-speed, automatic transmission. The 40th Anniversary Special Edition is finished in the striking Vario Green/Blue and has been garaged by its current diligent keeper for the last ten years. The Mercedes-Benz R129 was based on the shortened floorpan of the Mercedes-Benz W124 and featured many innovative details for the time; for instance, electronically controlled damping (optional) and a hidden, automatically extending roll-over bar. The R107's rather dated rear diagonal swing axle gave way to a modern multi-link axle. The number of standard features was high - with electric action for the windows, mirrors, seats and convertible top. The 1994 cars were the first to have the new designation; i.e. the 500 SL became the SL500. Also starting in 1994, Mercedes-Benz offered special SL models from time to time, such as the ‘Mille Miglia Edition’. AMG, the Mercedes-Benz owned tuning company, had already offered an SL version while still independent; the AMG 500 SL six-litre of 1991. After being taken over by Daimler-Benz, there were several AMG SL-models available. The SL60 AMG was sold from 1993 to 1998, it used a six-litre, V8 engine producing 381PS at 5500rpm. AMG claimed a 0 to 62mph speed of 5.6 seconds. Its top speed was limited to 155mph, but with the limiter removed, it was capable of approximately 185mph. AMG later unofficially conceded that 0 to 60mph was more like 5.0 seconds and the engine produced between 405-410bhp.This example has lived a cossetted life, covering only 38,000 miles from new and being serviced exclusively by Mercedes-Benz main dealers from new. The car has had just two owners throughout its 27 years, our vendor purchased it in 2001 and has cared for it ever since. Presented in the hugely attractive colour combination of Azurite Blue Metallic with a tan interior and fitted with the iconic AMG split rims, the whole car is in excellent condition and has clearly been a cherished car. The most recent service was carried out by Mercedes-Benz Ascot in October 2023 at 37,918 miles and the car has been professionally stored since then. The Mercedes-Benz R129 models were produced from 1989 through to 2001 and were sold under the "SL-Class' model names. The R129 was based on the shortened floor pan of the Mercedes-Benz W124 saloon and featured many innovative details seen for the time. The level of standard equipment was high, with electrically operated windows, mirrors, seats and convertible hood.Built to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Stirling Moss' win in the 1955 Mille Miglia road race, the R129 Mille Miglia was available as either a 320SL or 500SL. It could only be ordered in Brilliant Silver Metallic, equipped with Evo II six-spoke polished alloys and a red and black leather interior, complemented by carbon-fibre trim. The lower wing grilles were also given a unique 'chequered flag' treatment that, upon close inspection, is a clever collection of chrome squares.Finished in Brilliant Silver with contrasting Black and Red leather interior, the Mille Miglia Special Edition 320SL on offer here presents beautifully and boasts climate control, cruise control, hard top, full electric power roof, heated and electric seats. A rare 1 of 40 limited edition cars, this example scored an impressive 90 out of 100 in an assured inspection by the very well regarded SL shop in February of this year. First registered on the 22nd August 1995 by Mr. Burgin, who according to the supplied original purchase receipt paid £64,850 for the car. A new special edition version of the Mercedes SL celebrates the legendary Mille Miglia road race, trim changes rather than any actual technical enhancements make this a special edition for those wanting exclusivity instead of extra performance. We’ll let you decide whether the red and black colour scheme is to your taste, but the SL’s strength is the effortless way it manages to blend complete comfort with a startling turn of pace. However, you can’t overlook the fact that it costs £12,000 more than the standard SL. With the Mercedes AMG GT stealing all the headlines of late, Mercedes’ glamorous SL drop-top has been ignored somewhat. The company has addressed this by rummaging through its history and introducing a new special edition, called the Mille Miglia 417. This car doesn’t only celebrate the famous historic Italian road race, but also honours the often-forgotten John Fitch, whose 417 start time and race number adorns this made over SL. Sir Stirling Moss usually got all the Mille Miglia glory, but Fitch’s 11-hour, 29-minute and 21-second time – which placed him fifth in the 1,000-mile event in 1955 – is well worth celebrating, too. Only 500 of these special SLs were made, with magnetite black metallic paintwork as standard. Matt Designo Black Magno or Cashmere White Magno finishes are offered, as is an optional Desgino Diamond White non-matt finish.This superb example is presented in Designo Diamond White with black leather interior and red trim.
