R. C. P.' and dated December, 1909. Sir Ernest Graham-Little (1867-1950) was a dermatologist and the final MP for the London University seat.

Africa.- Thomson (Joseph) Through Masai Land, first edition, signed presentation inscription from the author to half-title, frontispiece and 14 plates, 2 colour folding maps at end, some light occasional spots but mostly clean internally, hinge reinforced, original pictorial cloth, rebacked and recornered preserving original spine, rubbed, [Czech p.164], 4to, 1885.⁂ Scarce with author's presentation note. In this work Thomson recounts his expedition from the east coast of Africa to the northern shores of Lake Victoria. While in Masai territory Thomson's expedition was plagued by the suspicious local warriors, recently in conflict with German explorers. Thomson hunted rhinoceros, elephant and buffalo (one almost killed him), and captured a new species of gazelle (Gazella Thomsoni). The work provided Rider Haggard with the inspiration for King Solomon's Mines.

This is one of several editions issued in 1747.The second item is a version of a parody of Rousseau's La Nouvelle Héloise, the third a parody of Marmontel's Belisaire.
