An excellent example of the special-edition WRX UK300, created to celebrate Richard Burns and Robert Reid winning the World Rally Championship in 2001. In 2001 Richard Burns and his co-driver Robert Reid won their first, and only, World Rally Championship title driving a Prodrive-prepared Subaru Impreza. In celebration of this achievement Subaru worked with Prodrive and the designer of the WRC car, Peter Stevens, to create a special-edition Impreza for the UK market, limited to 300 cars - the UK300.Based on the WRX model, the UK300 was essentially a trim level upgrade with a list price of £24,995. The model provided the following extras over and above the standard WRX available at the time:Prodrive WRC Style headlightsProdrive front lip spoilerProdrive rear high-level spoilerProdrive/OZ Racing 18" gold alloys with Pirelli P-Zero tyresWhite side markers and indicators on the wingsUK300 badges on the wings, boot and intercoolerBlue Lux Suede interiorUK300 logos on the footwell mats and on the boot carpetNumbered interior plaque with UK300 logoWR Blue paintworkWhile the cars were Prodrive-styled, they did not come with the Prodrive Performace Pack (referred to as the WR Sport Performance Pack in the brochure) as standard, instead this was offered as a £1,600 optional extra. Our example here is number 295/300 and is in fantastic condition. It has only travelled 18,000 miles and comes with a full service history including a recent cambelt service. Finished in World Rally Blue with a Blue Lux Suede interior, Imprezas in this condition rarely appear and, with the cachet of the Richard Burns connection, it’s a must for any enthusiast or collector.Specification Make: SUBARU Model: IMPREZA Year: 2001 Chassis Number: JF1GDAKD31G009390 Registration Number: Y5 UBY Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 248401 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 18000 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images

Lot 150

The Jaguar XE SV Project 8 sits at the pinnacle of the World’s performance saloons, offering 592bhp, dynamic agility and all-wheel drive traction. With just 106 miles from new, this superbly presented, fully-specified example represents a very rare opportunity. The second Collector’s Edition by SVO, following the successful F-Type Project 7 of 2014, Project 8 is a hand-built four-door saloon with supercar performance – designed to thrill driving enthusiasts with an extraordinary combination of explosive power, dynamic agility, and all-wheel drive traction. To ensure exclusivity, just 300 examples were built, each assembled at SVO’s Technical Centre in Coventry. The car is powered by the most highly-tuned version of Jaguar Land Rover’s 5-litre supercharged V8 petrol powertrain featuring a Titanium Variable Active Exhaust and offering 600PS (592bhp) and 516lb/ft of torque complemented by Jaguar’s All-Wheel Drive system and motorsport-derived aerodynamics to deliver a 200mph top speed and 0-60mph in a remarkable 3.3 seconds, making Project 8 the fastest accelerating Jaguar road car yet.Based upon the entry-level Jaguar XE Saloon, the Project 8 was conceived by Jaguar to be 'the most extreme performance Jaguar ever created'. Whilst it may still be recognisable as an XE saloon, only the front doors and roof are carried over from the production XE, with the rest of the panels subtly (and some not-so-subtly) sculpted and modified before being made out of lightweight carbon fibre. Carbon fibre panels include bumpers with enhanced cooling ducts, the bonnet, front air splitter, side skirts, adjustable rear spoiler, rear diffuser and adjustable rear aerodynamic wing. The result was the lightest V8 saloon in the range combined with lift reduced by 205% and a claimed 122kg of downforce at 186mph, with the Project 8 happily continuing onwards to 200mph.The interior features gloss carbon fibre trim as well as Alcantara on the rim of the Project 8 sport steering wheel, instrument binnacle and door cards. The 8-speed 'Quickshift' transmission can either be operated by aluminium paddle shifters behind the steering wheel or by a central ‘Pistol' shift lever.Other Project 8 features include; manually adjustable ride-height and aerodynamics, Intelligent Driveline Dynamic settings for circuit use, the first application of Jaguar’s ultimate new Carbon Ceramic Braking system and, an industry first use of F1-style silicon nitride ceramic wheel bearings on a road car. This fabulous example was originally purchased from Sturgess of Leicester and first registered on 21st December 2020. It’s finished in Quad Coat SV Premium Palette Velocity Blue, with a Narvik Black roof and Jaguar ‘Leaper’ graphics. It sits on 20" Lightweight Gloss Black alloys and now bears the Cherished Registration Number PR08 JUR which is generously included in the sale. Options from new include Project 8 logos stitched into the headrests, a Project 8 aluminium commission plaque, vehicle data recording device, privacy glass, head-up display, solar attenuating windscreen, suede cloth/Windsor leather – Ebony interior, electrically adjustable steering column, adaptive Xenon headlamps with LED Signature, a rear view camera and finally a bespoke car cover. This is really special. Just 106 miles from new with its one and only owner. With just 300 built, most of which appear to have disappeared behind locked doors, the XE SV Project 8 is a Collector's dream. They seldom come to market, and this sparkling, delivery miles-only example In a head-turning shade of Velocity Blue deserves to be seen in the metal, and consequently we invite and encourage you to take a closer look at our NEC Sale.Specification Make: JAGUAR Model: XE PROJECT 8 Year: 2020 Chassis Number: SAJAA4BE0KS487730 Registration Number: PR08 JUR Transmission: Automatic Engine Number: 18070623351508PS Drive Side: Left-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 106 Miles Make: Only LHD Interior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images

Lot 151

One of only 80 right-hand drive examples of these contemporary classic Jaguars with just 488 miles from new. In 2012, nearly 40 years after the E-Type's demise, Jaguar finally got around to announcing the long-awaited and much-rumoured F-Type, which would turn out to be a more worthy spiritual successor to its illustrious forbearer than either the preceding XK8 or, before that, the XJS. A front-engined, rear-wheel-drive two-seater, the F-Type is built on an aluminium chassis, cleverly configured to minimise the transmission of noise and vibration to the passenger compartment, while its suspension is the supercar-standard arrangement of double wishbones all round, with adaptive dampers and adjustable settings. Multiple driving modes cater for different road conditions and driving styles.Unlike the E-Type, the F-Type was available with a wide variety of different power plants, ranging from a turbocharged 2-litre four via a 3-litre turbo V6 to a supercharged 5.0-litre V8. A ZF 8-speed paddle-shift semi-automatic transmission was standard on all models at first, with a 6-speed manual available later on the V6. The F-Type debuted at the Paris Motor Sow in September 2012 in convertible form, with the fixed-head coupé following in 2014. Nowadays it is de rigeur for car stylists to reference past models in their latest creations, and to some observers, the coupé's rear recalled that of one of the rarest of E-Types: the low-drag factory racer. To cater for the sports car market's seemingly insatiable appetite for limited edition models, Jaguar launched the 400 Sport – produced for just one year – and Project 7, which would be built in a run of only 250 cars. Project 7 had first seen the light of day as a single-seater concept car shown at Goodwood, and so favourable was the reception that it was decided to press ahead with making a more practical two-seater production version. They soon sold out, with 80 assigned to customers in the UK. The 'Project 7' designation referenced Jaguar's seven Le Mans wins, while the 'Aero Haunch' behind the driver's head was an obvious nod towards the D-Type sports-racer responsible for three of those victories. An aggressive-looking shallow-screen 'barchetta', Project 7 has all-aluminium bodywork and is powered by the 5-litre supercharged V8, up-rated to produce 567bhp, 25bhp more than in the F-Type R. Coupled with a 45kg weight reduction, this makes Project 7 the fastest accelerating F-Type yet, with a 0-60mph (0-97km/h) time of 3.8 seconds. Like many of the current crop of supercars, Project 7 is electronically limited to a top speed of 186mph (300kph). With the exhaust butterflies open (there's a special console switch), the car emits a superb growl-bark that turns into a magnificent crackle on the overrun. It's the one thing that makes you want to slow down. The 'top-end running gear' includes the 8-speed paddle-shift auto 'box; electronic differential; carbon ceramic brakes; specially tuned suspension; and unique settings for engine management and chassis stability control. SVO engineers also rebalanced and improved the car's rear-biased aerodynamic downforce by fitting side skirts and a large front splitter, while slightly reducing the effectiveness (and drag) of the boot lid wing. The result of Project 7's unique set of characteristics is a track-focused car capable of satisfying even the quickest of drivers.Supplied new by Stratstone of Mayfair, the fabulous Project 7 on offer here was first registered on 1st March 2016 as PRO7 JUR and is finished in the rather striking, special order hue of Metallic Goodwood Blue with a triple white stripe across the nose. It sits on a set 20" Storm Black Diamond Turned Alloys in front of bright yellow calipers and the paintwork has been treated to full PPF. The car was optioned from new with Project 7 Illuminated Tread Plates and was supplied with a bespoke car cover, two keys and an immobiliser which is currently not connected. It's fitted with the 'Jaguar Project 7 - 1 of 250' plaque and is accompanied by the rather lavish Dealer Book Pack containing its Certificate of Authenticity. Our vendor is currently the car's second owner, it has covered just 488 miles and, as you can imagine, its condition is simply spectacular. We invite and encourage you to come along to our sale and inspect this impressive piece of Modern Jaguar History. SpecificationMake: JAGUARModel: F-TYPE PROJECT 7Year: 2016Chassis Number: SAJAC704XGMK28227Registration Number: PRO7 JURTransmission: AutomaticEngine Number: 15052446261508PSDrive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 488 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images

Lot 156

**Please note the correct number plate for the car is KVO 798V.** #68/100, this meticulously restored example is surely the finest JPS to come to market in recent years. Technically called the 'World Championship Commemorative Model', but more colloquially known as the John Player Special, this was the first and arguably the most memorable limited-edition Esprit from Lotus. Dubbed the JPS due to its distinctive black and gold livery, inspired by the ground effect, JPS-sponsored, championship-winning Lotus 79 cars of the period, as raced by Mario Andretti and Ronnie Petersen. Originally planned to build 200 examples, it was believed that just 185 were produced; 100 for the UK, 55 for the United States and 30 for Europe. The eye-catching specification included gold-coloured side-stripes complete with World Champion lettering, gold-coloured front and rear windscreen surrounds and alloy wheels, gold-effect corduroy seat inserts and a 3-spoke leather-rimmed steering wheel instead of the normal plastic offering. The 'Juke Box' installed was a Hitachi Digi-One radio-cassette. The 1,973cc 16-valve DOHC engine delivered a feisty 160bhp which was sufficient to sprint the 1,980lb glass fibre-bodied two-seater to 60mph in 6.8 seconds and on to a top speed of 124mph. The short production run lasted from December 1978 to July 1979.This immaculate example is Number 68, however, as we understand and know Lotus from that period, it is unknown what number it was in the production line. Our vendor confessed to getting somewhat carried away with the restoration, and as part of the process, #68 had a full body-off, glass-out restoration, including a respray and new stickers to ensure no stone was unturned and the car would be as good as new, if not better, which we feel he’s achieved by some distance. A number of top specialists have been involved in the car's transformation, and the results are very impressive, with a fabulous level of finish whilst still maintaining the character of the car, which is no easy feat! The restoration catalogue is fantastic, featuring new aluminium fuel tanks, brake line hoses, new aluminium radiator, new coolant hoses, Wilwood front callipers and discs (originals to go with the car) and new suspension and bushes all round. The engine was overhauled including new liners, crank reground and new pistons c.2,000 miles ago and a stainless-steel exhaust system including 4-into-1 manifold fitted to help it sing. The list goes on, making for an incredibly pleasant driving experience. The history file is good, containing old invoices and MOTs. Superbly presented and indicating only 72,746 miles, this is an exceptionally high-quality example that would cost a small fortune to replicate. With the combination of comfortable mileage and the quality of restoration, this very special Lotus would sit equally as perfectly in the hands of a collector as it would in the hands of an enthusiast wanting to get out and drive it.Under our vendor's watchful eye, this exceptional Lotus received a final touch of perfection, with an expenditure of £4,200 at GST Performance to address gearbox linkages, exhaust heat shielding, and various minor refinements that naturally arise after a comprehensive restoration. As we contemplate the electric future of Lotus cars, there has never been a more opportune moment to embrace the legacy of these classic, petrol-powered marvels. They are the very vehicles that have allowed the Norwich-born David and Goliath brand to weather the test of time with resounding success.SpecificationMake: LOTUSModel: ESPRIT S2 JPSYear: 1976Chassis Number: 79020661GRegistration Number: TOI 9585Transmission: ManualEngine Number: CC907790216073Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 73500 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: Tan/BlackClick here for more details and images

Lot 158

A rare and desirable Trans Am Y82 Special-Edition, fitted with the 'W72' Performance Pack and a manual gearbox. Pontiac’s Firebird left behind its roots as one of GM’s first Pony Cars in the late 1960s to become an automotive icon, famous for its starring roles in Smokey and the Bandit and Knight Rider. The second-generation model introduced in 1970 maintained the Firebird’s performance image whilst adding a European-inspired level of sophistication. The Oil Crisis may have stolen some of the muscle car’s 'mojo' by the 1970s, but Pontiac made up for the lack of horsepower in other ways, adding bold new graphics (including the famous 'Screaming Chicken' bonnet decal) and popular options like the T-bar roof. The Firebird was extensively restyled for 1977, and featured an aggressive new front end with a recessed black grille and four rectangular headlamps. Four models were available, ranging from the entry-level Firebird to the more upmarket Esprit and Formula variants, but the legendary Trans Am remained the most popular by far, accounting for almost half the total sales. Fitted with a new shaker hood, the Trans Am still had a massive 400-ci (6.6-litre) V8 as standard, rated at 200bhp and an abundance of low-down torque. Inside, the Trans Am’s cabin featured a machine-turned dash finish, additional gauges and Formula padded steering wheel, while the Turbo Hydramatic transmission was standard equipment, along with power front disc brakes and radial tuned suspension. A manual gearbox was an option but rarely selected in the US making manual cars now very hard to find. The Y82 was introduced in 1977 to coincide with the release of Smokey and the Bandit 1 movie and were originally supplied in Black with Eagle decals and glass T-tops. Unlike this car, most black Trans Ams have been painted black in homage to the film car and consequently, with a manual gearbox and the W72 Performance Pack, this car is extremely rare. The original build-spec has been verified by Pontiac Historical Services and is within the history file. The car is also an Aircon car and, although the system has been removed, many of the parts are included in the sale. The mileage is believed to be original but this cannot be confirmed. In America, the Y82 is considered to be the Holy Grail of all Trans Ams and, at the 2022 Mecum Harrisburg auction, a low-mileage example, which was not a manual box or performance pack car, sold for $400,000.Unusually, the car was imported to the UK in 1980, very early on in its life, and was used from 1980 until 1992 at which point it was put into storage where it remained for the next 20 years or so. A previous owner bought the car in 2013 and set about returning the car to the road, with the work being completed in 2014. Accompanying the car is an interesting history file containing lots of invoices and receipts along with a copy of the original build sheet, Owners Manuals, UK V5C and correspondence with the UK Pontiac Owners Club. The current owner enjoys a small eclectic private Collection which includes many 'best-of-breed' American cars, and he acquired the Trans Am a few years ago having purchased it on the basis of its rarity being a 1977 manual gearbox car with the Y82 and W72 packages. There have been some significant prices achieved for these rare cars in recent years and, at this guide price, this certainly seems like a very interesting proposition. We welcome and encourage your inspection of this rare Firebird at our NEC Classic Car Show Sale.Specification Make: PONTIAC Model: FIREBIRD TRANS AM SE Year: 1977 Chassis Number: 2W87Z7N180355 Registration Number: VGC562W Transmission: Manual Engine Number: ZW87Z7N180355 Drive Side: Left-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 57752 Miles Make: LHDClick here for more details and images

The 1996 WRC season brought Mitsubishi its first World Rally Championship drivers' title, thanks to a blisteringly quick young driver named Tommi Makinen. In quick succession, the Lancer Evolution VI came to be and, in the latter-half of 1999, Mitsubishi unleashed a special edition to celebrate its favourite driver's four consecutive WRC drivers' titles from 1996-1999; the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI 'Tommi Makinen Edition' (TME). The Evolution VI was already a technological tour-de-force but the TME came equipped with a more responsive titanium turbocharger, uprated and lowered suspension, quicker steering, an upgraded exhaust, a new ECU, beefed-up transfer case internals, a redesigned front bumper for improved cooling and authentic 17" WRC Enkei alloy wheels. The interior featured embossed Recaro seats, a MOMO steering wheel and red stitching. The performance upgrades saw 0-60mph despatched in 4.4 seconds and a maximum top speed of 150mph. Power was rumoured to be north of 300bhp, rather than the 276bhp 'Gentleman’s agreement'.Widely regarded as the finest Lancer to wear the Evolution badge, it was available in five colours, with Passion Red and Canal Blue joining Scotia White, Pyrenean Black and Satellite Silver. Only 250 TMEs (across the five colours) were officially imported into the UK, with 100 examples going to Australia, and the rest sold domestically in the Japanese market. Official figures show that of the UK’s allocation, only 50 examples were in Passion Red. According to Mitsubishi, it was these Passion Red cars that automatically received the renowned racing decals, known as a 'Special Colour Package' (SCP), meaning that these examples were factory-fitted with black door handles (so as to not break the line of the long profile decal). In the world of Mitsubishi aficionados, the consensus is that there were just 212 official factory SCP examples of the TME produced.Car #029 presented here is very special indeed. Not only is it a genuine Evolution VI Tommi Makinen Edition (CP9A/SNGF2) SCP car (i.e. one of 212), but it is also an official UK-market example. This means it was officially imported by Mitsubishi-affiliated Ralliart UK; hence it would have been professionally SVA’d, and is supplied with UK service books. Supplied to the first of just two owners on 16th October 2001, our vendor bought the car just two years later on 20th June 2003. The specification includes a Mitsubishi-branded Momo steering wheel, a digital clock, automatic climate control, Active Yaw Control, a Kenwood stereo, and an intercooler water sprayer. It sits on a set of white 17" 10-spoke Enkei alloy wheels, housing red Brembo brake callipers and shod with Michelin Primacy 3 tyres and an uprated exhaust has been installed.Presenting in stunning condition as evidenced by our images, the car has been looked after by the renowned specialists, Arnside Motorsport of Carnforth, where, at 27,875 miles, it received a full service and cambelt replacement service in June 2023. The most recent MOT is valid until 24th June 2024. It's presented to auction with the original Owners Manuals, service book, order form, a Kenwood stereo manual, and a collection of maintenance documents. A truly exceptional example.Specification Make: MITSUBISHI Model: LANCER Year: 2001 Chassis Number: CP9A0201505 Registration Number: YN51ZGH Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 4G63BG5911 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 27900 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Black AlacantaraClick here for more details and images

Lot 241

**Please note the car has recieved a fresh MOT valid until 6th November 2024.** Possibly the most high-profile modern Lotus in existence, subject to a £100,000 plus restoration and remaining in superb condition. The Esprit V8 was Lotus’ first crack at building an out-and-out supercar, and they undeniably did a brilliant job of it. The in-house designed and built Type 918 engine was an all-aluminium, 90° DOHC, 4-valves per cylinder V8 engine with two Garrett turbochargers which nearly bankrupted the company costing millions in development, but what an engine it was. Producing 350bhp in de-tuned, road going guise, and north of 500bhp in full race trim. The Esprit V8 was capable of 0-60mph in 4.0s and topping out at a whisper over 175mph. The car was visually beautiful, seen as a collaborative effort within the Lotus design team, building upon the foundation laid by Giorgetto Giugiaro's original design, standing at just 44.1in high and retaining it’s ‘pop up’ headlights until production ceased in 2004, the last remaining production car to retain them! An Esprit V8 is a rare beast in all senses, but this one is arguably the most special and notable example, having been owned, restored by Lotus and used by the ultimately disgraced CEO Dany Bahar.Dany Bahar wasn’t known for his money saving abilities, but certainly was known for an uncanny ability to spend it, so when he joined Lotus as their new CEO from Ferrari, he certainly brought with him some grandiose plans that ultimately became his undoing. One of his many self-indulgent projects undertaken during his reign as Lotus CEO - besides from remodelling his house - was to commission the factory to completely rebuild a Lotus Esprit V8 as a personal runaround. Bahar felt he needed something truly special, and none of the Lotus line-up at the time quite fitted the bill. Instead, he decided Lotus’ Esprit V8 supercar was the one, so set about having one fully restored at a vast internal cost purely because he wanted the best one in the world, and the best one in the world is what he received. There are many internal Lotus documents on file in the cars history folder, and while they fully detail all the parts and work involved, they don’t document the cost. With over 800 hours of labour involved and over 9 A4 pages documenting all the new parts used, it is reasonable to believe the speculation and rumours that this restoration cost Lotus well in excess of £100,000.In 2010, Lotus sourced and got to work on a very late, low mileage 2002 Lotus Esprit V8 to make it fit for Bahar. The restoration was certainly meticulous, leaving no stone unturned and no bolt untouched. The car was completely stripped down for the nut and bolt meticulous restoration, with the chassis being blasted and powder coated. Any parts that were still available new from Lotus, were replaced, regardless of their condition and thankfully there is photographic documentation corroborating the strip down, restoration and rebuild with the bills/internal invoices on file. Whilst it is not on the parts list, several Lotus staff including Danny Hartgrove, the man in charge of the restoration, have since revealed that a brand-new engine was fitted, straight out of the crate, at Dany Bahar’s request. The gearbox was fully reconditioned, as a new gearbox was not available. Upon completion, and whilst in Lotus’/Bahar’s care, the car was displayed at the 2010 NEC Classic Car show, the 2010 Paris Motor Show and the 2011 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Upon Bahar’s unceremonious firing, Lotus took the car back, kept it and sold it via their dealership network in 2014 before our vendor purchased it from the buyer in September 2016.The level of detail to ensure this car was the best in the world is incredible, and this V8 includes some special features. The whole car is in absolutely mint condition. On the mechanical side, not only was a brand new crate engine fitted but it was paired up with a host of "Final Edition" options from the last-of-the-line 2003 models such as a later ‘High Boost’ Engine Control Module from an Esprit Sport 350, breathing through a twin-centre exit exhaust, providing even more power and noise. To stop the car, uprated AP Racing front callipers were fitted at the front, and Brembos at the back, with Anthracite OZ Nova wheels shod in Dunlop SP Sport tyres.Cosmetically, in addition to the wheels, this Esprit had an oversized Final Edition spoiler fitted and ‘Afterburner’ tail lights. The interior was retrimmed in a totally bespoke and wonderful dark grey SuedeTex / Black leather combination throughout with a then costing £2,500 multimedia system/sat nav, with top of the range speakers, Esprit Kick plates, and a Momo 3 spoke leather steering wheel. The car was fastidiously painted in Pearlescent White from maroon and, as you can imagine with Mr Bahar standing by, the preparation and finish were millimetre perfect.Lotus have subsequently borrowed the car back in recent times for the visit by the Geely Vice President and Lotus CEO, Mr Feng Qingfeng, along with approximately, 50 Geely/Lotus Senior Executives. It has been looked after and cherished by its two private owners since Bahar, remaining incredibly pampered with over £32,000 in invoices from the current vendor alone, mainly from Stratton Motor Company, for maintenance and servicing, despite only covering a mere 5,500 miles since the Lotus restoration. It further benefits from a full-service history, stamped in the original service book, most recently receiving an A-Service in August 2023 from Stratton Motor Company as well as new timing belts/tensioners and new rear suspension, amongst other work. It will be offered for sale with a fresh MOT to further peace of mind. This car simply could not be a better example of what an Esprit V8 should be like. It is visually beautiful, mechanically wonderful and fully documented from new. While he may have made some questionable financial decisions whilst running Lotus, Bahar certainly achieved the goal of having the best Esprit V8 in the world. Being a CEO, after all, certainly has its perks. Without a doubt this is the best condition Esprit we’ve presented, and we highly recommend a personal viewing to fully appreciate the level of detail and quality installed in this car. With such a brilliant story behind it, and the first time its ever reached the truly open market, this is an opportunity to acquire arguably the very best Lotus Esprit V8.SpecificationMake: LOTUSModel: ESPRIT V8Year: 2002Chassis Number: SCCDA0823HC10330Registration Number: RO02 PTXTransmission: ManualEngine Number: LL918990230240LRV12Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 41524 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: Grey/Black AlcantaraClick here for more details and images

I DREAM OF JEANNIE (1965-1970) - Jeannie's (Barbara Eden) Season 1 BottleJeannie's (Barbara Eden) bottle from Season 1 of the fantasy sitcom television series I Dream of Jeannie. Jeannie was released from 2,000 years of imprisonment when her bottle was uncorked by astronaut Anthony Nelson (Larry Hagman) after his space capsule strayed off course and marooned him on a desert island. This bottle is seen in a photograph displayed in Stephen Cox's "Dreaming of Jeannie: TV's Primetime in a Box" book. Jeannie's magical bottle was not a prop created for the show but instead a repurposed special Christmas edition Jim Beam whisky decanter. Although there have been several claims as to who discovered the decanter over the years, director Gene Nelson asserted he noticed it whilst passing the window of a liquor store and was so taken by the bottle that he brought it to the show's producer, Sidney Sheldon, and it was later painted by the props department. This style of bottle was used throughout the show's five seasons, although when the series transitioned into colour for Season 2, the bottle was updated to a brighter colour scheme so it would be more distinctive on camera. This teardrop-shaped bottle is made from smoke-green tinted glass and features a tapered neck, a bulbous base and the markings "D-334 119 64 1" embossed on the bottom. It displays hand-painted gold-coloured accents and an ornate leaf design. The glass stopper has a cork end. Although the bottle stopper was only briefly seen in the first episode (misplaced on the beach as part of the storyline), it was used for publicity shots. Accompanying this bottle is a copy of the "Dreaming of Jeannie: TV's Primetime in a Bottle" book, two promotional photographs; one depicting the bottle posed against sand, the other a still of Eden and Hagman with their respective autographs signed in black pen, and a custom clear acrylic display case featuring "I Dream of Jeannie, 1965" applied in white vinyl on its black-painted wooden base. The bottle exhibits areas of wear to its paintwork and remnants of blue paint on the cork stopper. Dimensions: (bottle) 13 cm x 13 cm x 28 cm (5 1/4" x 5 1/4" x 11"); (display case) 23 cm x 23 cm x 59 cm (9" x 9" x 23 1/2")Additional Provenance:This lot was originally sold by Profiles in History in the Hollywood Auction 40 in June 2010.Estimate: £40,000 - 80,000 M View all lots from I DREAM OF JEANNIE (1965-1970)Bidding for this lot will end on Thursday, November 9th.
