* ROSS MUIR (SCOTTISH b. 1981), TRUMPET limited edition artist's proof giclee print on paper, signed, titled and numbered A/P unframed overall size 76cm x 92cm Note: Glasgow artist Ross Muir hit the headlines in 2018 when his original painting of the Dutch impressionist Vincent van Gogh, entitled “Square Gogh”, went viral within a matter of days. Muir’s wide-spread success on social media saw many galleries interested in his work. In October 2019, Muir had his first ever solo exhibition in Glasgow’s City Centre. The exhibition was a huge success and was sold-out before even opening the doors. A second solo show in Glasgow was scheduled for 2020 but the pandemic put everything on hold. Throughout the first national lockdown, Muir turned his creativity to the streets, with posters of his signature Vincent Van Gogh portrait – featuring the words ‘Jist Gogh Hame’ – appearing all over the city of Glasgow. As a message that was both witty and incredibly relevant, Muir’s artwork resonated with its onlookers and soon garnered international attention through social media. In 2020, Muir’s work was recognised by the official Van Gogh Museum in the Netherlands, with the institution proudly posting Muir’s artwork on their Instagram account to announce the temporary closing of the gallery. In 2021 Maddox Gallery (London) "signed" Muir and he joined a roster of artists which includes The Conner Brothers, Bradley Theodore and Joseph Klibansky, alongside established names like RETNA, the photographer David Yarrow, and world-renowned figures such as Banksy, KAWS, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring. The influential Maddox Gallery staged Ross Muir's first London show in May 2022 and the widely reported success prompted a second solo show at The Maddox Gallery "Ross Muir, The Bridge Home" recently announced for 8th September to 22nd October (2023).

LAGAVULIN 12 YEAR OLD WHITE HORSE 1980S 75CL ISLAY SINGLE MALT The Islay distillery of Lagavulin first gained notoriety in 1862 when it was acquired by the well-known blender, John Logan Mackie. He then passed the reins to his nephew Peter, who is credited with the creation of the highly regarded White Horse Blend. This blend was so successful that by 1924 the Mackie group changed their name to White Horse Distillers, before becoming part of the DCL group a few years later. Lagavulin single malt was still produced under the White Horse Distillers name until the late 1990s when it became part of the Diageo conglomerate. The most famous advocate of Lagavulin is probably fictional character, Ron Swanson, from hit US sit-com Parks & Recreation. However, Nick Offerman (the actor who plays Ron) must also enjoy a drop, as he has partnered up with the distillery to create his own limited-edition whisky.43% ABV / 75cl
GLEN GRANT 18 YEAR OLD RARE EDITION SPEYSIDE SINGLE MALT Glen Grant was the first distillery in Scotland to have electric lighting installed, thanks to its forward-thinking owner, and all-round colourful character, Major James Grant. Grant was an innovator who was one of the first people to realise the potential of exporting whisky abroad. Initially, this paid dividends, and in 1897 The Major began construction of a second distillery across the road. However, as was the case with so many distilleries built around this time, Glen Grant 2 was mothballed after just a few years. Although, it did re-open in 1965 under the name Caperdonich. While it might not be a household name in the UK, Glen Grant is consistently one of the top selling single malts in Italy due to the groundwork laid by legendary importer Armando Giovinetti in the 1960s. It, therefore, seems appropriate that the distillery is now owned by Campari, an Italian company.43% ABV / 70cl

Its effortless balance of sweet, sherried, dried fruit notes with smoky, savoury undertones has earned it legions of fans worldwide.43% ABV / 70cl
