We have been unable to trace any copies at auction in the last 25 years and have located only one copy in a library (Folger). The work was withdrawn from circulation and placed on the Index of Prohibited books in December 1622; being re-issued in 1624 and then subsequent parts later. Bronzini celebrates the abilities and skills of women and in doing so provides much detailed biographical information on the female writers and artists of the time.
