As a result of the sino-japanese war (1894-95), the Qing Dynasty had to give up such a position according to article 1 of the Treaty of Shimonoseki, which was concluded between China and Japan in 1895. This work attests to a statement of Japanese pride in their recently conquered mainland territories.

Hess (Made in China) a boxed group of plastic constructed battery-operated Commercial Truck/Trailer & Tanker Models which includes a Gasoline Tanker "The First Hess Truck" in an earlier edition box, a toy truck "Tanker Bank" again in an earlier edition box along with a toy "Truck Bank" in later edition box "Hess Gasoline/Fuel Oils". Conditions do generally appear Good although these do appear to have been on display at some point and are suffering from various degrees of sun damage/yellowing and are presented in generally Good outer pictorial boxes although the boxes do suffer from crushing and corner wear. Please note battery compartments do generally appear to be free from corrosion although none have been tested and none have been checked for completeness or correctness. (3)
