Rowling’s Harry Potter series. The franchise has now expanded to encompass eight Harry Potter films, two Fantastic Beasts films, a sell-out stage play, three theme parks and a studio tour. As of 2016, the Harry Potter industry was estimated to be worth $25 billion. It is therefore very poignant to encounter the point at which all this began: J.K. Rowling’s first Harry Potter book was published in London, by Bloomsbury, in 1997. Unsure of its success, the publishers issued only 500 copies of the first edition, first impression in hardback. The book is the jewel in a Harry Potter collector’s crown. This copy, being one of the 500 first impression hardbacks produced, has the numberline reading 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 on the publisher’s imprint page, the publisher is listed as Bloomsbury, the error of ‘1 wand’ is listed twice in Harry’s school equipment list and ‘Philosopher’ is misspelt ‘Philospher’ on the lower cover. It is an exceptionally rare book to find. Wendy Cooling's review on the upper cover states: "A terrific read and a stunning first novel", another key issue point of the first edition, first impression. The book is indeed a story that has captured the hearts of generations around the world, with this copy representing the birth of a true classic.

Nicolas Trudgian Phantom of the Ruhr Limited Edition signed by 4 RAF Lancaster aircrew who all flew in Phantom of the Ruhr with 550 Squadron. This print is from the Limited Edition number 52 121 and is supplied with the original Certificate of Authenticity. The edition number was restricted to 121 in tribute to the incredible 121 operational sorties carried out by the Lancaster bomber, Phantom of the Ruhr. The print is signed by the artist, Nicolas Trudgian, and carries the original signatures of: Flight Lieutenant Jim Lord DFC Pilot, Flying Officer John Elliott Wireless Operator, Pilot Office Bob Sebaski (RCAF) Navigator and Sergeant Ken Down Flight Engineer. All of whom are RAF aircrew who flew Phantom of the Ruhr with 550 Squadron. The print measures approximately 16.5 inches x 11.75 inches and has been stored flat, out of the light and is in very good condition. Print historical detail: The Phantom first flew operationally with 100 Squadron in June 1943. She left the Squadron in November with 30 operations recorded on her side and in that same month she was transferred to the newly formed 550 Squadron at North Killingholme. On the 5th of September 1944 she became the first Lancaster of 550 Squadron to reach 100 missions and on the 21st of November she flew her last sortie with the Squadron, her incredible record stands at 121 operational sorties and 830 operational flying hours. As a testament to the bravery of all Bomber Command Aircrew the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Lancaster carries the codes of the Phantom of the Ruhr. Gerald Coulson Moonlight Limited Edition signed by WW2 Special Duties Lysander Pilot Flt. Lt. Peter Arkell RAF. This print is from the Limited Edition number 35 350 published in 2006 and is supplied with the original Certificate of Authenticity. The print is signed by the artist, Gerald Coulson, and Special Duties Lysander pilot: Flight Lieutenant Peter Arkell. For his first tour Peter Arkell flew Mustangs and Spitfires with 26 Squadron on intruder and low level photographic sorties over France, before joining 161 Squadron as Tempsford in 1944, flying Lysanders into occupied Europe mainly supporting SOE operations. He then accompanied the Lysanders to Burma where he flew 35 successful but hazardous missions supplying Force 136 behind the Japanese lines. He was awarded the OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours in 1997 for his work as chairman of the Anglo American community relations committee at RAF Fairford. Peter Arkell passed away on 27th August 2010. The print measures approximately 18.75 inches x 16 inches and has been stored flat, out of the light and is in very good condition. Print historical detail: Flying secret agents in and out of occupied France, transporting arms and radio equipment to the Resistance, and collecting downed airmen from behind enemy lines were all among the most hazardous flying operations of World War II. These cloak and dagger sorties, always conducted at night by the light of the moon, required a cool head and inordinate flying and navigational skills a duty performed courageously by the pilots of RAF Special Duty Squadrons. The aircraft most suited to these difficult tasks was the rugged Westland Lysander the aircraft Gerald Coulson has chosen to portray in his tribute to the pilots of the Special Duties Squadrons. With the moon at its fullest phase, a Lysander from 161 Squadron is en route to France, flying literally into the unknown. All autographs come with a Certificate of Authenticity. The limited edition version of this print is only signed by the artist. This is the more desirable Artist Proof number 1 10 which carries 5 additional signatures (1 of only 10 prints so signed) and is supplied with the original Certificate of Authenticity. The print is signed by the artist, Stephen Brown, and Squadron Leader George Johnny Johnson DFM One of the legendary 617 Squadron Dambusters, Johnny Johnson was Bomb Aimer on AJ T which attacked the Sorpe Dam for which Johnny was awarded the DFM. The aircraft was piloted by the American Joe McCarthy and the pair went on to fly 40 more missions together.
