Revis'd, and Re-printed with Additions in 1726, 24pp., printed on thick paper, woodcut head-piece and initial, a little browned, disbound, stab-holes, n.p., 1726 § Compendious Geographical Dictionary (A), third edition, folding engraved plate of solar system and 8 folding maps hand-coloured in outline, contemporary red roan, gilt, g.e., rubbed, spine a little stained, W.Peacock & Sons, 1804, 8vo et infra (2)⁂ The first is concerning the shipwreck of the Nottingham Galley on Boon Island off the coast of Maine in 1710, and the survival of the crew through cannibalism. After nearly two months they were rescued and the crew published an account accusing the commander Deane and his brother of deliberately wrecking the ship as an insurance fraud. This is Deane's reply which went through several editions, all of which are rare. ESTC records only 2 copies of this particular edition (British Library, and William L.Clements library at the University of Michigan).
