Forkbeard Fantasy - The Brontosaurus Show (1983) – a 'lifesize' oversized suspended teenage dinosaur sculpture, originally the actual set for the live show, assembled during the performance as the bones arrived in wooden crates from Siberia. Built by Penny Saunders and Chris Britton. Full suspended puppet, including some accessories and show-related ephemera present. Wood and latex construction. Can be dismantled for ease of transportation. Currently mounted on a dismantlable tent structure for touring. This could easily be replaced with something more robust From the description applied to the piece: 'The bones of the teenage Bronto were arriving in crates throughout the show as the rival palaeontologists bickered about their theories of evolution. The final crate contained the skull. Inside the cranium they find the skeleton of what can only be an angel...' An impressive, fine and rare 19th century Imperial Russian silver canteen of Hanoverian pattern cutlery, comprising twelve table spoons 978grams, six dessert spoons 329grams, six dessert forks 302grams, serving spoon 208grams, large soup ladle 403grams, fish server with metal core handle 176grams (marked JAL) steel bladed and tined carving knife and fork, twenty four table forks 1957grams, twelve teaspoons 390grams, six white metal bladed knives with metal core handles 405grams and twenty four steel bladed knives with metal core white metal handles, each having makers mark AC, mark for St Petersburg and assay master mark for Ivan Vonifatiyevich Yevstigneyev 1878, the fish server with pierced and engraved blade, maker JAL (Lohfert, Julius Eduard August and conforming date and assay mark, all marked with 84 zolotnic to denote 875/1000 silver standard. All housed in a brass mounted oak case with two lift-out trays and all fitted with buff-coloured plush lining and blue accents. Gross weighable 875 grade silver without steel bladed items 5148grams. Flat ware and cutlery generally in very good condition commensurate with age and use, the knife blades with some oxidation/spotting, additional images uploaded. An early 20th century mahogany cutlery canteen box, bearing a label for Harrods. Note: a non-transferable ivory exemption certificate has been granted for this item, ref 1MAB1R4B60w x 45d x 28h cmOverall condition is usable, but slightly scruffy. There are some knocks to corners and edges, surface marks and general signs of age. The lining is dirty and marked in places. No key but the lock is in place. One handle missing. Weighs approximately 17kg.
An early 20th century silver teapot, of oval shape, with an ivory insulator, 546g, 22cm long, together with a matching sugar bowl, 256g, Birmingham 1936. Note: a non-transferable ivory exemption certificate has been granted for this item, ref VYSMU7GE (2)Both are complete and usable. Teapot is stained inside from use. The insulators are loose and cracked on each. Silver is dirty. Hallmarks are crisp. Teapot is 14cm diameter at the widest point and 10cm high including the handle. Sugar is 11cm diameter and 8cm high including the finial.
