A mahogany double pedestal partners desk in the George III style, the tooled and gilded leather insert top over three frieze drawers to one side opposite two frieze drawers on two banks of four drawers with brass swan neck handles opposite two cupboard doors and flanked by brass side carrying handles on plinth bases 155 cm wide x 95.5 cm deep x 81.5 cm high CONDITION REPORTS The drawers are oak lined. There are areas of veneer missing throughout but mainly to the corners and some areas have been patched. Ink marks etc. The leather top has various scratches including a couple of large scratches/indents and there is fading where items have been on the desk for a long time. Drawer liners are split. Locks appear to be replacements as they go over the handles on the interior. One pedestal has several splits to the inside side. The same pedestal is also split to the exterior and there are areas of moulding missing and the wood is very faded to the cupboard side. The door of the pedestal with the splits appears to have come off at the hinge area and been repaired. Both doors are bowed at the top. The other pedestal also has a split to the outside and a large chunk of moulding missing. Item has wear and tear conducive with a lot of use and being placed in the sun to one side.
