A blue painted metal, composition and glazed lantern, English or French, late 19th century, the domed top and tapered cylindrical body cast with openwork foliate and geometric cresting, approximately 90cm high, 50cm diameter Condition Report: Top glass pane is broken. The upper section of the interior has been fully adapted and encloses a large modern light fitment. The panes inset in the body are variously scratched, and feel like they may be a type of plastic. A framed collection of plaster casts of Early Modern printing blocks, early 20th century, after 16th century originals in English and Latin, with assorted descriptive paper labels, 83 x 129cm overall These plaster casts formed part of the collection of the stationers livery company, London, which is one of the few left to have its old hall. The casts were made for an exhibition in the early 20th century. Condition Report: Marks, chips and losses to plasters overall, as well as some darkening to surfaces.Marks and slight warping to paper. An excellent piece of Bowie memorabilia with a rich history. The item is a framed piece of 'wallpaper' printed by Laura Ashley for the 1995 New Afro Pagan Work: 1975-1995’ (approx 20 x 31cm) signed clearly by David Bowie and dated 1996. The item is sold with an assortment of documentation of the signing itself, which came in 1996 when Bowie was being interviewed on Dutch television for the show 'Karzel'. The interviewer mentioned his (Bowie's) designing of the wallpaper and unpromoted, our vendor appeared from the audience with a piece of the wallpaper (which he'd brought along, hoping to have it signed). For a more concise explanation - a full clip is available on Youtube (see here). Includes letters, tickets, schedules, VHS and DVD copies of the interview. A fantastic item of Bowie memorabilia with impeccable provenance, this being a pair of 'Innercity Raiders' men's jeans, owned and worn by David Bowie on many occasions (inc onstage and featuring on the Bowie 'A Reality Tour' DVD cover), signed to rear pocket by David Bowie and dated 2004. The jeans were offered as part of a Daily Mirror charity raffle in 2005 and were subsequently bought from the winner by the current owner. In used condition. Inner leg approx 32". Sold with DavidBowie.com information sheet, Daily Mirror 'winners' letter, a copy of the Reality tour DVD.
Another superb Bowie collector's item with this original UK test pressing of the 1983 album which is housed with printers proof inner and sleeve. Also included is a UK picture disc LP copy of the album (AMLP 3029 - Ex+ condition). The (test pressing) album is issued over two single-sided LPs on green labels which are blank. Record one is in Ex+ condition showing just a couple of extremely faint and wispy paper marks. Record 2 is in archive condition showing few discernible marks. Matrix/runout (record 1): AML 3029 A-3-1-1-1 NICKZ & AML 3029 B-3-1-1-1 NICKZ TENHOUSE. The inners have the matrix info handwritten and are date stamped 8 MAR 1983 (the commercial release for the album was 14 April 1983). Complete with original large printers proof card lyric inner which measures approx 64 * 38.5cm - this is in VG condition with some creases. Housed with the original printers proof sleeve, this in VG condition with some creasing.

Simon), naval battle scene within full trophy border, the back with paper label inscribed ‘Blake – Medal was struck by Simon by order of Oliver Cromwell to commemorate the battle & Victory over Van Tromp which was gained by 60 men of war agt. 70 anno 1653, this medal was sold to King William 4th for £150 out of the collection of Mr R.L.’, 56 x 51mm, 65.27g (Lessen, BNJ 1997, pp.58-9, Trophy Large Border, and pl. vi, 2, this piece; cf. Platt II, p.336, type EE; cf. M.I. I, 398/26). Die crack through ships, very fine, interesting £150-£200 --- Provenance: M. Trattle Collection [but not in his sale catalogue of 1832]. * Durrell (Gerald, 1925-1995). English writer and naturalist. A sheet of drawings by Gerald Durrell, signed 'Gerald Durrell, France, [1973]', a series of felt tip drawings of approximately 50 animals, flowers, shapes and designs to one side of a large artist's sketch book sheet of thick wove paper, signed and dated in ballpoint pen to lower margin, perforations to left margin, with logo design by Durrell in blue ballpoint pen for 'The Jersey Wildlife Preservation Trust' to verso, showing a dodo within a circle and titled 'The Wildlife Park Trinity' beneath, a horse's head drawn in blue ballpoint pen by Durrell adjacent, a few minor spots to recto and verso, 37.5 x 45 cmQty: (1)NOTESAn important and unusual item of Gerald Durrell ephemera. * Rota (Nino, 1911-1979). Italian Composer, most notably of film music. Autograph Musical Quotation Signed, 'Nino Rota', Rome, 2 September 1951, neatly written in blue ink on off-white card, depicting seven bars in the treble clef from the main theme of Legend of the Glass Mountain, with title, signature, place and date inscribed by Rota beneath, rounded corners, 9.5 x 9 cm, light mounting remnants to versoQty: (1)NOTESThe Glass Mountain is a 1949 British romantic film drama, starring Michael Denison, Dulcie Gray and Valentina Cortese. Nino Rota's theme music was a contemporary hit. An attractive and uncommon item.
Wittgenstein (Paul, 1887-1961). One-armed pianist who commissioned works for the left hand and who was the only brother of the philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein. Ammianus Marcellus, with an English translation by John C. Rolfe, Loeb Classical Library, volume 3 (of 3), 1939, Paul Wittgenstein's copy, signed in pencil on the front free endpaper ('P.W. / N.Y. / August 1941'), and with annotations to a further 12 pages and numerous underlinings, side marks and punctuation on other pages, plus hand-drawn staves and music notation in Wittgenstein hand to front and rear pastedowns, plus verso of final ad leaf and recto and verso of rear fly leaf, all in pencil, original red cloth gilt, a little rubbed and soiled with minor fraying to extremities, 8voQty: (1)NOTESThe hand-drawn staves and musical notation represent ideas and passages for the left hand, many of which have the fingering added. An unusual and uncommon item.
Milne (A. A.). The Rescue of Piglet, a New Story for Children, illustrations by Ernest H. Shepard, c.1925, the story of Piglet extracted from the Evening News as press-cuttings, mounted in a blank exercise book in story-form, 2nd title signed in ink by both author and illustrator, cuttings toned and offset, front free endpaper with contemporary ink manuscript subtitle "A Rescue of a Rescue", limp covers wrapped in contemporary patterned paper, extremities lightly rubbed with a little wear, spine toned, small 4toQty: (1)NOTESProvenance: from the library of P. The press cuttings here are probably the first appearance in print of the story of Piglet and the flood, published in Winnie the Pooh in 1926.

A. The six prints are taken from issues of the Home Chat magazine published in a series around October 1928. The prints are: Christopher Robin has a Little Something at Eleven; What Christopher Robin does in the Mornings; Christopher Robin gives Extract of Malt all round; Christopher Robin's Green Braces; Christopher Robin at the Enchanted Place; Christopher Robin organises an "Expotition". Ernest H. Shepard produced these prints exclusively for the magazine and they apparently never appeared in any of the 'Pooh' books.
