Humphrys Francis, (1879-1971) British Officer, Colonial Administrator and High Commissioner in the Kingdom of Iraq 1929-32 and as the first British Ambassador to Iraq 1932-35 following the country's independence. Signed typed letter indicating that he had passed on Ian Malcolm's message of sympathy following the untimely death of King Faisal and dated 21st September 1933 on British Embassy notepaper. Interesting item.

Shako of the 2nd Regiment of Hunters or Musketeers, ca. 1812.Measurements: 20 cm high; 28,5 cm diameter.Russian Shako corresponding to the 2nd Regiment of Hunters or Musketeers, from the Napoleonic invasion of Russia (June to December 1812), a very interesting collector's item.The shako or chaco is a military helmet characterised by its cylindrical shape, usually with a visor and decorated at the top with an ornamental decoration on the front. From 1800 it became a widespread military helmet, used by most of the regiments of the armies of both Europe and America, replacing the lighter bicorn. Its origin can be traced back to the Hungarian hussars of the 18th century.
