The Lord of the Rings by J R R Tolkien (signed by the author). This is 1969 deluxe India Paper edition, from George Allen & Unwin. The book is in fine condition with the original slip case with has some wear. The owner worked at the publishers and when Tolkien visited their office, he signed the book for her on the free endpaper. This edition is desirable in its own right but Tolkien's signature makes it a rare collectable item. Condition Report: NB. Slip case is badly scuffed but the book itself is very good.
