Berger, Heinz and Riva for de Sede - A mid 1970's modular settee, model DS600 'Non Stop', the twenty-five brown leather elements of modular design, approximate total length 600 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Like many luxury leather goods brands, furniture-manufacturing company de Sede started out as a saddle-making atelier. Based in Klingnau—located in northern Switzerland near the German border—the company traces its high-end furniture production back to 1965, when the original family-run business incorporated and began to collaborate with international designers on the creation of handmade, premium-leather-clad chairs, lounges, and sofas. Over the years, de Sede’s product offering has expanded to include tables, beds, and more.*****Condition report - Overall this is in very good condition. It measures 73cm high, with a seat height of 43cm and a depth of 97cm. The leather upholstery has typical faint scuffs/scratches and watermarks, as well as some mildew on the surface. There do not appear to be any rips or tears. The settee is currently in five seperate sections in our saleroom. It is completely modular and numerous pieces of furniture can be arranged by splitting up the seperate parts by removing the bolts. All of the necessary bolts are present although one is a later replacement. The sections are surprisingly lightweight and can be rearranged easily. This is a most-impressive piece of furniture and a very rare find indeed. Please see the extensive additional images which help to show the scale and potential of this wonderful and rare item.

Lot 1026

WW2 German Luftwaffe Aircraft Balkan Cross Section Cut From Underside of Wing, fantastic large section of German crashed aircraft removed and taken as a souvenir. The section which measures approximately 113 x 94 ½ cms, shows the German Balkan cross. Due to the size and shape we believe this to have been taken from the underside of a wing. The section is made up of three panels riveted into place from the reverse. The section has two bullet holes which have penetrated the panel on the Balkan cross. A wonderful and iconic item. Ex the Late Michael Baldwin collection.

Lot 1027

WW2 German Luftwaffe Swastika Tail Section from a Ju88 Aircraft, large section of aircraft aluminium taken from a single side of a tail section from a Luftwaffe Ju88 aircraft. Large black painted swastika with white border on green panel. Factory produced rivet holes to the outside edge, towards the bottom and in the swastika itself. Reverse has six open tube fittings. The panel is bent towards the bottom left hand side making a crease in the aluminium. Some areas of paint loss to the swastika which you would expect to see from a wrecked aircraft section. Measures 105 x 118cms at its widest point to the top. A fantastic iconic item of Luftwaffe history. Sections of aircraft like this were popular souvenirs to be taken from crashed German aircraft, especially during the Battle of Britain. Many of the large pieces like this were taken by the RAF and hung in various mess halls and later ATC centres. This item was found in the UK by the late vendor, Michael Baldwin. See two previous lots for the other aircraft pieces from the same collector. The Ju88 was a medium range bomber aircraft of the German Luftwaffe. They were a very efficient aircraft and many were flown during the Battle of Britain.
