An Arts & Crafts oak framed toilet mirror, with bevelled glass and angled supports. Width 41 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Both mirror and frame are in extremely good condition. The item could be used or resold in its current state without the need for any repair or restoration. Looking at the locking nuts with a magnifying glass, they will originally have had a loop. Both locking nuts still however operate.
A pair of late 19th century Chinese glazed standing dogs. Height 18 cm. CONDITION REPORT: One dog has a very small 1 mm glaze chip to the rear front facing foot. Other than this the item is in first class condition. The second dog has been damaged. Two of the legs have been broken and re-glued into place. The repairs are not particularly good.
A quantity of dolls house furniture, and related items. CONDITION REPORT: The majority of the pieces are in generally good condition with no real issues. The painted metal pieces all have chips to the paintwork. The brass fire surround has a crease and buckle to the mantelpiece. The majority of the wooden pieces are in good order. The set of chairs are the only item with real issues. There are two chair legs missing and many of the legs have been detached/are loose.
An early 20th century oak roll top desk, with fitted interior and with four drawers to each pedestal with wooden handles. Width 127 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The desk roll currently runs but is quit stiff. The webbing behind appears to be all present. There are no gaps between the sections when closed. The top is in good condition as is the moulded edge. The sides of the top are in good order. The back of the desk is panelled as are the rear of the pedestals. All drawers appear to be in good order. We have the centre drawer and the back panel. There is no evidence of any woodworm that we can see. The desk is in generally good order with only minor surface marks and blemishes as one would expect from an item of this age. The interior is principally complete however the left and right hand pigeonholes are empty and perhaps should have a slide out filing drawer.
A 17th century embroidered stumpwork picture, King Charles II with courtiers in exile, and another similar of Queen Catherine with attendants. Sizes respectively 22 cm x 16.5 cm and 18 cm x 14 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The picture of the King appears to be in very good order bearing in mind the age of the piece. Clearly there is some fading as one would expect but there does not appear to be any significant perishing or deterioration. The sky is silk and the remainder of the pattern and in particular the trees, steps, fences, etc are all raised and the item is stumpwork. The second picture of the Queen which is smaller is in less good condition. It is more faded than the other. The sky is silk. The dress of the Queen has probably had some repair to the section which looks stained and slightly burnt. Other than that area to the right of the dress there is one small section in the middle centre of the front of the dress which looks a little stressed. Both frames are clearly not original but presentable and in keeping with the pictures.
A George III mahogany three pillar dining table, comprising pair of D ends, centre section and two leaves. Width 46.25" (117.5 cm), length extended 12' 4" (376 cm) (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This table has come in from a local private source. In our opinion the table has been through a workshop probably around 30-40 years ago. The top has been incorrectly French polished. The timber is reasonable quality but not particularly good quality. The table may have been reduced in width. All of the fittings for the clips look to have been moved. The brass handles that locate the ends in place are also old but later. There are various marks to the underside of the table suggesting bearers in slightly different places. The mahogany to the top section of each of the three pedestals looks to be Honduras mahogany and not of top quality. The legs are all showing signs of wear and in our opinion have been reshaped probably due to old wear. All castors with the exception of one are old. We are really not sure if the table is full period or not. It is very difficult to tell. Whilst we believe that all leaves do match again we cannot be certain. Having had a very good look at the table we feel that this table should be bought as a good decorative rather than full period item. If you require any further information please contact Mark Wise on 01900 827800.
An early 20th century oak roll top desk, with fitted interior, green tooled leather writing surface, kneehole drawer and four further drawers to each pedestal. Width 122 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The tambour runs reasonably well. It is a little sticky in places but not significantly. The webbing at the back appears to be in reasonable order and there are no gaps between the slats. The desk is fully panelled all round. It is in generally good condition with only minor surface scuffs and marks as one would expect from an item of this age. The interior appears to be complete unless the two largest apertures should have had drawers. The green leather writing surface is in generally good condition but will be a later replacement. The drawers all appear to be in good condition and are all present. We can see no evidence of any woodworm. We do not have a key for this desk and as a consequence have taped up the lock mechanism.

AMC Rebel Convertible 290 V8 Auto RIGHT HAND DRIVE!! 1967 - The AMC “Rambler” Rebel is a rare bird indeed. Coming from one of the smallest producers of cars in the States and only made for two years as a Convertible 1967 and 68. A mere 1686 were made. Now throw in that this example is a Right Hand Drive car! Yep getting rarer but I hear you say “They were made as knock down kits in Right Hand Drive form, shipped to Australia and New Zealand where they were reassembled using some local content”. Ok and this car has the twin dial dash that all Australian and NZ cars had, unlike the single rectangular clock dash the Left hookers had. The fly in the ointment with that is that according to all the books ALL of the RHD cars were 4 door Hardtops. The vendor has come across the odd comment or reference over the years that mention one or two convertibles may have gone as kits to Australia, but there is no official line on this. Either way this car is damn rare! The 67 Convertibles were the only year to carry the “Rambler” name and all were built as the top spec SST versions with power hoods and split front seats. Another rare item is the engine in this car is a 290 V8 while the vast majority of RHD cars in 67 had a straight six? It also has the optional power steering.Having been bought by the vendor just over 3 years ago with a view to getting it back to show standard, it was unfortunate for the car but not the vendor, that about then his business took off and for the next three years it has sat, barely turning a wheel. Now, although the engine runs well, the electrics work, the power hood on is in good shape and fully operational and the car drives, it is being offered as a project car that will need some work and re-commissioning prior to being road worthy and to get it to show quality. There is no MOT on the car but there is some history and paperwork. What an opportunity for someone to own what could well be a one of a kind, power hooded convertible, late sixty’s muscle car!!
