The various trade / proficiency badges include various naval Flieger (flying) trades, signallers, mechanics, musicians, the three grades of diver’s badges including the rare example for U-Boats, etc. Examples are yellow on blue, red on blue and blue on white types. All fitted to the album page with a number and a brief title description in German underneath. The last page also has a Kriegsmarine tunic breast eagle. A very interesting item for any Kriegsmarine or cloth insignia collector. 91 items of insignia in total.

Rare WW1 British 1905 Pattern Other Ranks Service Dress Peaked Cap, good untouched as found example of a 1905 pattern service dress peaked cap as issued to British troops at the beginning of WW1 before the introduction of the more commonly found Trench cap. The cap has had its stiffener removed so is floppy like a trench cap, but still retains the early small rounded stiff peak. Cap has bi-metal other ranks cap badge of the Hampshire regiment to the front an thin brown leather chinstrap with brass general service side buttons. Interior with black oilcloth sweatband and lining, the lining shows wear and some flaking. Exterior of the cap with staining and wear but generally a good example of an early item of WW1 British headdress.

The writing in which is ink penned to the top details the cloth to be of a friends old tattered coat. Message at the bottom is addressed to he’s wife, ‘From a loving husband, of the 7th Battery, Royal Field Artillery’. ‘South Africa’ and the ‘VR’ with the crossed Union flags decorate this piece nicely. Ca. AD 500 - 600.A unique bronze oil lamp in the shape of a soldier's boot. The oil lamp has an elegant and slender form, with a protruding discoid foot, a boot-shaped body with a keeled central section, and a sloping shoulder. The boot is made up of a base with short nails, indicating it was likely to be for use in snow or mud. The top part of the shoe displays crossed laces at the front, extending to the top of the boot. Two bronze rings accommodate two chains for hanging the lamp. The entire composition has developed layered speckles of green and brown patina.
