FINE 19TH CENTURY FRENCH WALNUT STRAIGHT FRONTED DISPLAY CABINET having swept top, above a pair of glazed doors with foliate inlaid panels below, revealing two plate glass shelves to the interior, canted sides with serpentine glazing over similar foliate inlaid panels, overall with good quality ormolu mounts, geometric and foliate designs with lion masks on bold paw feet. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: This item has been flood damaged and was immersed in river water up to the second shelf. Although appearing still in remarkably good condition there is evidence in places of lifting veneers, one of the rear legs joint has expanded and there are a few minor pieces of missing veneer. Sold as seen. Veneers in lower portions are loose in places and coming away - some minor losses (so far). Exceedingly good quality, particularly the mounts. Marble top is lost.

VAT) CONDITION REPORT: This item has been significantly flood damaged up to the top drawers. A lot of the veneer has either come off or is very loose and the carcass has undoubtedly distorted. The top was not submerged but may have been affected by the damp.

Rare WW2 Fleet Air Arm White Leather C-Type Flying Helmet and G-Type Oxygen Mask, the helmet in the style of a Naval issue C-Type with zipped ear cups. Complete with the original wiring loom. Earphones within the ear cups. Complete with the original goggle straps and rear neck flap. Helmet has an original G-Type oxygen mask attached retaining the copper nose wire and original microphone attachment. The set shows service wear and some staining to the white leather. A scarce item of WW2 headdress.
Rare British Airborne 1st Model Step-In Paratroopers Smock, manufactured by Rego Clothiers Ltd, produced in a heavy gabardine khaki coloured material with working central front zip, Newey Patt press stud fittings to the front, storm type cuffs and armpit ventilation. Original shoulder straps. Lower side pockets have the original zips. Interior of the smock has the original “Jackets Parachutist” label, having Rego Clothiers Ltd makers details, size details etc. War Department inspection stamp but no date letter visible. The smock shows light service wear. Overall a very good example of an extremely rare item of British Airborne forces clothing. These smocks were the first examples produced and issued to the newly formed British Airborne Forces. They were a direct copy of the early German Paratrooper smocks, which were also a step-in pattern. These early smocks were issued to the Airborne forces which took part in the Bruneval Raid (Operation Biting). They were soon proved to not be very effective as they were not quick to get in and out of and as a result were very soon replaced by the more commonly found Denison Smocks and Parachute Oversmocks. Very few of these early pattern smocks remain on the collecting market as many were dumped or altered for use after WW2. Imperial German Hussar Regiment Nr12 Commemorative Pipe, porcelain pipe with hand painted scene of a Hussar on horse back with regimental details and reverse side with German maiden. The pipe is complete with its full length commemorative pipe stand which can be taken apart. Very well detailed item. Small area of damage to lower section of pipe bowl but otherwise good example. Complete the stand measures 124cms in length.
WW1 German Trench Art Memorial, made from a bullet with Imperial crown tunic button mounted to the centre and small brass picture frame to the top with a image of a German in civilian clothing, can only assume this is someone who probably was killed during the war. This actual item was on display at the Tate Britain’s Aftermath exhibition, June 25th – September 24th 2018.
Rare Officers Beret for the Polish 1st Independent Parachute Brigade, well worn example of the special pattern beret issued to the Polish Airborne forces in WW2. The grey beret is fitted with bullion embroidered beret badge and single metal star below. Ribbed cloth trim and painted gromets. Cloth lining in spiral pattern. The beret shows a lot of service wear with staining and some small moth holes. An excellent used example of a scarce item of WW2 airborne headdress.
Extremely Rare Formal Adolf Hitler Presentation Silver Photograph Frame, fine example of the specially produced 925 silver photograph frame that was personally presented by Adolf Hitler. The frame is of steeped border design with the lower section having rectangular section with highly detailed national eagle and swastika with AH flanking the swastika. The frame is complete with its original reddish brown leather backing with brass clip fasteners and fold out stand. Frame is held by four small silver pins, two in the top and two in the bottom. The bottom edge is stamped with the original makers mark for Franz & Hermann Wandinger, who were the only silversmiths to be authorised to make these specially produced frames for Adolf Hitler to present. Bottom is also stamped with 925 silver mark and crescent moon and crown mark. A very good example of an extremely rare item of Third Reich militaria. These frames were only presented by Adolf Hitler and would have originally had a signed dedicated Hoffman type photograph of Adolf Hitler. It is believed that HRH the Prince of Wales later King Edward VIII was presented with one of these frames when he visited Berlin in the pre-war years.
Royal Air Force Officers Inter War Parade Full Dress Busby, leather covered shell with seal fur surround, knotted gold bullion cords with blue flecks. Fitted with the correct pattern busby badge. Fine officers ostrich feather plume. Interior has leather sweatband and officers lining, tailors label to the crown for Moss Bross & Co Ltd. Patent leather chinstrap still present. Fur remains in good condition. Some denting to the busby shell. Overall a good example of a scarce to find item of Royal Air Force headdress which was relatively short lived.
Rare WW2 Luftwaffe Handheld Aerial Camera in Original Transit Case, near mint condition of the rare Luftwaffe issue handheld aerial camera, “Handkammer Hk 12,5 / 7x9”. Retains all the original paint finish, instruction plates and issue plates. Complete with the original handle and thick leather strap. Accompanied by two spare lenses by Schneider-Gottingen. The camera is housed in the original wooden transit case which retains much of the original paint finish, metal hinged catch fittings and carry handle. Painted to the top of the box “Hk. 12,5 / 7x9” and “Fl 38004”. Also written to the front is address of the American serviceman who brought the item back from Germany at the end of the war, the original 1945 dated US certificate allowing Major Donald B O’Brien to post back to the USA this camera. WW1 British Cavalry / Mounted Troops Greatcoat, interesting heavy khaki wool double breasted greatcoat with brass General Service buttons. Large collar, shoulder boards and lower pockets. White blanket cloth lining to the interior with ink depot issue stamps to the inside of the arm section. Coat shows some wear but generally a good example of a scare WW1 item of clothing.

The smock has front zip with concealed press studs to the top section. Armpit ventilation and side zips. Press studs to the lower leg sections of the smock. No labels or marks can be found inside the smock. Clear evidence of wear. Scarce item of Airborne uniform / equipment.

Complete with its officers style leather sweatband and crimson silk lining. Stamped to the interior with Hawkes & Co makers details. Victorian 21st Hussars Officers Sabretache Attributed to Sir Hugh Bateman Protheroe Smith OBE, being a French grey cloth faced example with gilt lace border having white central stripe, the centre embroidered with crowned VR cypher and laurel wreath surrounding a circle with “21/H” to the centre. Three brass D ring fittings to the top. Reverse of blue leather backing and complete with the pouch having Hawkes & Co paper label. The sabretache remains in excellent overall condition with the bullion remaining bright. Attached to the D rings is a label giving attribution and stating that the item was purchased at the sale of his home at Pentowan, Gyllyngvas, Falmouth Bay. This pattern of sabretache was only worn for a very short time as the regiment became 21st Lancers after 1897. Sir Hugh Bateman Protheroe Smith was from Cornwall, he was commissioned in The Dorsetshire Regiment in 1895 and transferred to the 21st Hussars, later Lancers in 1897. In 1898 he served with the regiment in the Sudan, charging in the famous action at the Battle of Omdurman. He served in South Africa from 1899-1900, receiving the Queens South Africa medal with five clasps. He later served in Somaliland 1903-04, before being appointed Commanding Officer, Military Mounted Police, Egypt in 1905 where he remained until retiring from the army in 1909. After leaving the army, he returned to Cornwall and he became Chief Constable for which he received a Knighthood in 1928.
^ Superb Brechin Volunteer Infantry Georgian Presentation Sword by Woolley, Deakin, Dutton & Johnson,1808, of Scottish National Interest, the sword with signed blued and gilt blade etched with crowned GR cipher, Royal Arms, figures of Victory, Britannia etc, martial trophies, Prince of Wales feathers, Union flowers and profuse foliage together with the gilt presentation inscription ‘Presented by the non-commissioned officers & privates of the Brechin Volr. Infantry to David Ogilvy Esqr Major of that corps in testimony of their esteem and respect for him as an officer and a gentleman A.D. 1808‘ against a blued ground. The presentation inscription is similar in design and style to that seen on the Lloyds Patriotic Swords. Gilt brass hilt with lion’s head pommel, pierced knuckle guard with laurel, langets formed as a pair of angel heads against a star burst, spiral carved ivory grip. In its leather scabbard with gilt brass mounts finely engraved with dragons and with an elaborate trophy. Good condition, a little age wear to scabbard mounts and blade, grip with vertical age crack. A truly beautiful sword of extreme quality, presented to someone believed to be from one of the most influential families in Scottish history. The Ogilvy family is one of the most distinguished families in Scottish History dating back to 1296 when Patrick de Ogilvy appears on the Ragman Roll swearing fealty to King Edward I of England. Patrick’s two sons, however supported Robert the Bruce during the wars of Scottish Independence. During the English Civil War, the Clan Ogilvy supported the Royalists, they fought under James Graham the 1st Marquess of Montrose. It was at the Battle of Philiphaugh in 1648 where James Ogilvy 2nd Earl of Airlie was captured and imprisoned in St Andrew’s Castle but managed to escape the day before his execution, wearing his sisters clothes. The Ogilvy Clan fought during the Jacobite Uprisings in 1715-16 and 1745-46 with one regiment from the clan fighting at the famous Battle of Culloden. It was after this battle that the chief of the clan escaped to France. The Brechin Volunteer Infantry, in Angus, was raised in 1799, in response to the threat of invasion from France after the French Revolution.THIS ITEM WILL REQUIRE A CITES LICENSE TO BE EXPORTED OUTSIDE THE EU
