A PORTUGUESE TEA URNOf twin handled form, raised on four legs, the shaped square base raised on four bun feet, the detachable cover with a pine cone finial, the front with a tap and with a detachable spirit burner having a turned wooden handle, height 50cm, gross weight 3505 gms Condition Report;; Hinge to lid in good condition, finial probably re-attached underneath, the fitting is very sharp. Wing nuts to base look to be replaced, feet are a little pushed inwards and require straightening. Possibly something missing from the bottom of the tap. Shallow denting by the side of the bottom of one of the handles. Urn is not stable on its feet.. One or two small dents to the body.The burner; wooden handle maybe an old replacement and re-rivetted. The wick adjustment button is not working properly.. Shallow dent to body.This item is probably not working.

Circa 200-300 AD.The gold ring with oval-shaped carnelian intaglio engraved with a standing profile figure of Fortuna, her head facing right, she is holding a rudder and cornucopia.From the Roman Republic onwards it became customary for all the chief magistrates and senators, to wear gold rings, known in Latin as annulus aureus, as a way to distinct themselves from the mass of the people. A symbol of high social status. This intaglio holds the depiction of the goddess Fortuna, who is bearing a cornucopia, symbol of abundance, and a rudder, symbol of her control over human destinies. Fortuna was not only the personification of good fortune and chance, but was also worshipped as the protector of cities. Late Period, Circa 664 - 332 BC. A finel glazed ancient Egyptian glazed composition amulet of the dwarf god Bes in deep green faience. Highly modelled in a grotesque manner, with a grimaced face, a protruding snout and pointy ears. He is depicted with a beard and loose hair, wearing a tall headress with plumes . His body is in the stylised squatting position with hands on his knees, prominent belly with deep navel and wide chest and long tail hanging down from his back. A suspension hole drilled through base of headdress. Circa 1000-1200 AD. A long iron hollow socked fork with long cylindrical handle with two dividing tapering ends forming the fork conjoined by a convex terminal connecting the handle to the fork. Circa 400-600 AD. A Roman early Byzantine gold double-hooped ring, decorated with various gemstones. Two oval bezels feature to the sides and are set with a rich purple amethyst stone. A cone-shaped bezel sits in-between, enclosing a bright green emerald. Stylised discs decorate the top of each bezel whilst gold beads decorate the bottoms. The beads of the middle bezel extend downwards, connecting the two hoops. Cf. Chadour, A.B. Rings. Circa 600 AD. A spatha longsword comprising a lentoid-section iron parallel-sided blade with broad tapering tip; formed by the forge-welding process. A rectangular iron hilt with rectangular dual-sided cell of inset almandine garnet cloison set in a stepped pattern, a rock-crystal nut shaped pommel. Mounted on a custom-made stand. Twelve 19th century fairings to include 'Before English Neutrality 1870-71 attending the wounded', 'Oysters Sir?', 'A pleasant termination to happy evening', 'Can-can', 'Returning at one o'clock in the morning' and 'Waiting for a bus''Waiting for a bus' - £500 price tag on the back, condition good; 'For three legs' - minor paint rubbing but porcelain appears good; 'Taking the cream' - firing cracks around necks of both figures that look original and are not deemed subsequent damage; 'Can can' - there is, in the auctioneer's opinion, a glazed crazing that appears as a hairline to the drum-shaped seat that the female subject is on but this appears just glaze crazing not actual damage; 'English neutrality' - some minor paint loss and a small horizontal firing crack to the neck of the figure lying on the ground; 'Oysters Sir?' - very minor rim fritting to edge of plinth base otherwise good and small piece away to top of sign saying Oysters! otherwise good; 'A pleasant termination to happy evening - very small match-head sized chip away (historic) only really visible to underside of base, small chip to far right object on floor to right of seated male otherwise OK; 'After' - vertical firing crack visible to underside in corner angle; 'Returning at one o'clock in the morning' - the standing female figure has lost the item originally in raised right arm; 'the figure '......fall to the ground' - small match-head sized porcelain chip away to underside base corner (historic) viewed from the rear the red cloak hanging over the chair appears to have a horizontal hairline running right across the cloak approx. 1 cm up from the bottom, in the auctioneer's opinion this has had some re-colour restoration at some point; 'The organ boy' - very dark to underside with two discernible hairline cracks (please see images) largish chip away to inside left hand plinth base (as viewed from the front) historic firing crack to prop that male figure is against, kiln grit prevalent in glaze. To a certain degree there are mostly minor paint losses to some of the fairings.
in the form of a carriage clock, each side with a green enamel panel over an engine-turned ground, on four fluted compressed ball feet and with an overhead angular swing handle, the dial with Roman numerals12cm highCondition report: Fully marked underneath. The hinged back and handle each part marked. The marks in general are clear. Stamped on the back with retailers name. This is work and only just legible. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. There is a crack to the enamel on either side of the dial. There is some cracking to the dial. The mechanism has not been tested to see if it functions properly. The item has the date letter 'U' as used in London 1895-96.
