Han Dynasty, Ca. 202 BC - 220 ADA hollow-formed terracotta rabbit figurine with a white pelt and coral-pink pigmentation on the nose and in the inner ears. Tang Dynasty, Ca. 618-907 AD An earthenware mingqi of foreign rider on a horse modelled in a standing pose. The rider depicted with body facing outwards towards the horse's head, his head turned slightly as if facing a target, he has stylised aqueline nose, elongated earlobes, prominent cheekbones, and deep-set eyes surmounted by lashed eyebrows, with an impressive moustache and beard. His hair carefully dressed; his hands at his knees, holding harness. He wears a yellow ochre painted tunic tied at the waste. The horse is white in colour with patches of yellow ochre, with ears prickled forward attentively. The muscles are rendered in great detail on the neck and hind quarters. The tail is depicted docked and bound in tradition fashion. On the horses back is a dog in a recumbent pose, on top of a stylised cushion. This piece has been precisely dated by means of a Thermo Luminescence analysis carried out by Ralf Kotalla, an independent German Laboratory. Ca. 400 BCA beautiful example of a Chalcidian helmet. The bowl is forged in one piece, featuring high-arched eyebrows below a peaked raised band; a short teardrop-shaped nose guard extends down from the raised eyes. The articulated crescentic cheek-pieces with contoured edges are attached with metal wires; a hole for the attachment of a chin-strap is visible. Chalcidian helmets are named after similar helmets depicted on pottery vases from the Euboean city of Chalcis. This type of ancient Greek helmet was a lighter and less restrictive form of the Corinthian helmet. The hinged cheek pieces were anatomically formed to fit closely to the face and tended to curve upward towards the eye, where large circular openings provided a wider field of view than the Corinthian helmets. NORTHERN BLACK SEA COAST, Ca. 400 - 300 BC A rare and attractive Greek Chalcidian helmet with original armoured plate cheek guards conjoined to the ridge by conical shaped shields. The bowl was forged from a single piece with a strong carinated ridge and peaked crown, raised neck cover, long nose-guard with raised edges extending to form the eyebrows. This helmet type probably belongs to a regional variant of later Chalcidian helmets from the area north of the Black Sea. Tang Dynasty, Ca. 618-907 ADA large and beautiful hollow-moulded terracotta horse, modelled in a standing pose on a square base. The horse's head is facing gazing forward, with its ears pricked forward attentively. The muscles are rendered in amazing detail on the neck and hind quarters. The tail is depicted docked and bound in the traditional fashion. Decorated in a red pigment, the terracotta-coloured saddle and white saddle cloth are still vibrant.
