Five and a quarter meters long - 1.18 metres wide approx, an Edwardian textile garment that was a sari and given by a soldier to his fiance during World War One (he never returned) the item is in pale grey silk, embossed with gold edging with gold roundalls on the pattern with a Mulberry centre, very slight fraying round the edging and tiny holes (1)

WW1 German Aircraft Fabric, reputed to have been taken from a crashed German Aircraft during WW1. The painted Iron Cross is to the centre and the canvas is ripped and damaged. Evidence of other colours underneath. The reverse of the fabric has American YMCA address label stuck which is addressed to a women in Westmorland England. Fabric is aged and distressed. We are of the opinion that this item is probably a later produced item. Very well made and aged. Sold as viewed, not subject to return.
Large and Impressive East German Official Building / Border Post Plaque, large metal silver painted starburst shield with painted and enamel insignia of the German DDR to the centre. Bar mounting fitting to the reverse. Due to its size and style we believe this would have hung outside an important Military building of the DDR or on one of the Border Posts.
