Robert Thompson - Classic Mouseman, 7'0" refectory table and 8 chairs, circa 1951. 6 chairs and 2 carvers with lattice back detail and studded tan cow hide seats. 4 chairs have the traditional mouse detail carved to one leg, 2 chairs and both carvers have the mouse more rarely positioned on the top of chair backs. Hand adzed table top with solid underside frames and column detail featuring the mouse carving.Complete with original purchase receipts for the table, dated 1951 and separate receipts fro the chairs purchased later in 1963 & 1964. Also complete with 2 handwritten and signed letters from Robert Thompson (dated 1951) regarding the delivery of the items - the orignal table was damaged in transit and a replacement item sent. All wood to the entire suite is in very good condition with the oak being a warm golden colour. One chair looks to be slightly sun faded and several of the seats could benefit from being reupholstered.

A central bank of 2 over 3 graduated drawers with solid oak knobs, flanked by 2 panelled cupboards with fixed interior shelving. Hand adzed top and carved mouse detail to one corner. Together with a photocopy of the original purchasers receipt from February 1951. The item is in good solid condition, the oak being a lovely warm golden colour. The top has water staining to one end and some small water marks on the front.
