A Naval bicorne hat, matching epaulettes and belt belonging to Lt. Cdr Jack Llewelyn Davies RN, the epaulettes with applied silver anchor and star, the black moleskin bicorne hat with applied gilt detail, the fitted carrying tin with red velvet interior and lid with maker's shield cartouche inscribed 'Gieve, Matthews & Seagrove Ltd', with owner's brass cartouche inscribed 'J. Llewelyn Davies RN'.Provenance: From a private local family, these items were given to the vendor's father, who was the Rector of Saint Endellion Parish Church, North Cornwall. The items belonged to Jack Llewelyn Davies, who was the eldest of the boys befriended by the author of 'Peter Pan', J. M. Barrie. Jack was one of the inspirations for the boy characters in the story of 'Peter Pan'. Jack served in the Royal Navy during WWI and was the first cousin of Daphne Dumaurier. J. M. Barrie became an officer in the Royal Navy after attending the Royal Naval College at Osborne and served in the North Atlantic during WWI. J. M. Barrie became the main guardian of the boys after their parents died, and secured him a place at the Naval College. Upon retiring, Jack Llewelyn Davies moved to a cottage in St Endellion, Northern Cornwall, which is how this item has moved into the possession of the vendor's family.
A 9ct gold cufflinks and stud set comprising a pair of 9ct gold rectangular cufflinks with diagonal divide, one half with engine turned pattern, the other half blank, marked '9CT', with chain and torpedo fasteners, two 9ct gold studs marked '9CT' and a large stud of similar design, unmarked, in a presentation case, combined weighable gold approx 3.8g (5). CONDITION REPORT The gold weight excludes the unmarked stud. There is a vacant space for a further item in the case, so one piece of the set is missing.

After unframing the item the wrinkling to the paper is more evident. There are some areas of brown staining to the edges and reverse. Some vertical light crease marks and occasional further crease.

F1 Racer, James Hunt signature piece well presented in a frame, approx 26x22. This lovely item includes a signed magazine photograph of Hunt during his modelling times plus a name plaque. Hunt (29 August 1947 - 15 June 1993) was a British racing driver who won the Formula One World Championship in 1976. After retiring from racing in 1979, Hunt became a media commentator and businessman. Due to the nature of the picture, it does have fold marks along it, giving the item character and history as Hunt would have signed this during the sour of the moment incident. Good condition. A stunning Victorian woven gold wrap serpent bracelet set with two round shaped green stones. The detail of this bracelet is very fine, with teeth and tongue of the snake carefully carved into the jaws. Tests as 18ct gold. This item has been tested with a KEE gold tester and neodymium magnets, which did not indicate a steel support beneath.Gross weight approx 32 grams.
A rare 18th century betrothal ring, in the style of a fede ring, which opens into a gimmel or puzzle ring. Articulated in three parts, with the hands unclasping to reveal a pair of joined hearts within. Yellow metal, which tests as 18 ct gold. The shank is delicately carved and the hands are accented by carved foliate cufs, set with turquoise cabachons signifying forget me nots. Gross weight approx 3.7 grams. Size S.Provenance - the vendor inherited the item from a family friend, who was a member of the clergy with links to South Africa.

Hands are quite crude and have dark varnish and matter surface- this may be concealing repairs and replacements- certainly the fingers are, in some cases, slightly crude and pointed. Old losses to the nose and left ear and left shoulder.
