A Naval bicorne hat, matching epaulettes and belt belonging to Lt. Cdr Jack Llewelyn Davies RN, the epaulettes with applied silver anchor and star, the black moleskin bicorne hat with applied gilt detail, the fitted carrying tin with red velvet interior and lid with maker's shield cartouche inscribed 'Gieve, Matthews & Seagrove Ltd', with owner's brass cartouche inscribed 'J. Llewelyn Davies RN'.Provenance: From a private local family, these items were given to the vendor's father, who was the Rector of Saint Endellion Parish Church, North Cornwall. The items belonged to Jack Llewelyn Davies, who was the eldest of the boys befriended by the author of 'Peter Pan', J. M. Barrie. Jack was one of the inspirations for the boy characters in the story of 'Peter Pan'. Jack served in the Royal Navy during WWI and was the first cousin of Daphne Dumaurier. J. M. Barrie became an officer in the Royal Navy after attending the Royal Naval College at Osborne and served in the North Atlantic during WWI. J. M. Barrie became the main guardian of the boys after their parents died, and secured him a place at the Naval College. Upon retiring, Jack Llewelyn Davies moved to a cottage in St Endellion, Northern Cornwall, which is how this item has moved into the possession of the vendor's family.

Hunt (29 August 1947 - 15 June 1993) was a British racing driver who won the Formula One World Championship in 1976. After retiring from racing in 1979, Hunt became a media commentator and businessman.
