GWR enamel Station Running-In-Board FRESHFORD, white lettering on blue. Early style from the turn of the century manufactured by the Patent Enamel Company. Freshford station is between Bath Spa and Bradford-on-Avon in Somerset, opened in 1857. The sign is in two pieces, one 7` x 18" the other 6` x 18" and is in reasonable condition for age. Great North Of Scotland Railway wood with cast letters, Running-In-Board OYNE. Measures 72½ x 23" with a 3¼" deep beading around the edge. Situated between Inverurie and Insch on the Aberdeen to Inverness route, the station opened in September 1854 and closed in May 1968. Good overall condition considering the age. NOTE: Item is being sold from the Vendor`s premises in Monmouthshire and is to be collected from there by the purchaser.

RENFE Spanish Railway Signal Lamp, cast iron construction. It comes in a very manageable 2 parts and measures about 4.6” tall and is certainly an impressive item. A 3 aspect lamp with original burner. This unusual lamp manually rotates around the steel support pole to show the correct aspect required. The flute carries an original plaque engraved with RENFE 4797 B – MARANON which is a very small village in NE Spain in the province of Navarre. Possibly a unique survivor and example ready for the railway room or garden. One of the coloured lenses shattered but is left attached to effect repair or size measurement for replacement.
