A heavy gauge hallmarked silver four-piece tea and coffee service comprising: large coffee pot with carved wooden pineapple finial and scrolling hand (24.5cm high to tip of finial), teapot with same carved pineapple finial, a two-handled lidded sucrier also with carved pineapple finial and a cream jug, the cream jug and the sucrier each with gilded interior, each assayed Birmingham 1955, total combined weight approx. 2,494g, each piece with vacant cartouche and engraved in late-18th century neo-Classical style CONDITION REPORT: The actual carved wooden pineapple finial is not damaged although the silver leaves and mount containing the pineapple is leaning slightly towards the handle. Looking under a loop two small “bubbles” can be seen where the finial affixes to the dome lid and although in our opinion the work affixing the finial to the domed top is probably original there is a possibility that the finial could have been re-affixed to the cover many years ago. The cream/milk jug has a gilded interior which has tarnishing and staining. The outside of the jug is also quite tarnished which should polish off with a good quality silver polish. The item has been entered privately and has been in the same family for many years. The oval cartouches engraved onto the silver items are vacant. Good condition with no issues to report. The two handled lidded sucrier has a gilded interior with tarnishing on the inside and outside. Both the sucrier and oval dome topped coper appear to be in good order with no condition issues. The carved wooden pineapple finial also looks to be in good condition. The teapot is 24.5cm to the tip of the finial, the interior (not gilded) is tarnished and has obviously been used for purpose, all looks to be in very good order with no problems noted, no “dings”, splits, old cracks or old reparations. Some minor “scratching” can be seen but generally the coffee pot is in very good overall condition. Everything looks good with no splits, cracks, dents or restoration.
An early 20th century Continental silver (marked 925) and pink guilloche enamel box; hinged cover, the clasp set with a small blue cabouchon stone, approx. 128.62g CONDITION REPORT: In terms of the enamel everything looks very good with no major problems, chips or cracks noted. The metal looks in good condition also, a nice touch with the bright cut style decoration where the metalwork is exposed. The spring loaded clasp exhibits a small blue stone, probably a sapphire and is stamped 925 and one other symbol. Upon opening the box it has a very bright and extremely complimentary gilded interior. This came privately and is a very good item.
A late-19th / early-20th century German porcelain model of a parrot by the Unter Weiss Bach Factory, impressed and printed marks to underside, 30cm CONDITION REPORT: Although dirty (the item being in private hands for many years) the piece appears to be in good general overall original condition with no cracks, chips or restoration noted.
THIS PIECE WAS ACTUALLY MADE POST 1990 A fine late-19th / early-20th century Continental porcelain (probably German) model of a parrot, printed and impressed marks to underside of base, 22.5cm high CONDITION REPORT: Although dirty (the item being in private hands for many years) the piece appears to be in good general overall original condition with no cracks, chips or restoration noted.
A Dresden porcelain figural centrepiece; two-handled boat-shaped reticulated bowl above a flower encrusted support and two young figures, the girl standing playing a lute; printed marks to underside, 37cm high CONDITION REPORT: As you would expect some of the extremities (i.e., flower head edges) have chips and have been damaged. The overall appearance of the centre piece is quite dirty but it appears to be in reasonable condition and order with no cracks, chips, hairlines or restoration noted. As previously noted some of the extremities show small signs of chipping etc. The main “tree” support appears to be in good order and the figures themselves look reasonable with all of the fingers appearing to be present and intact. The gilded 'C' scroll “feet” all appear good although turning the item over the affixing iron nut where the base meets the tall support has gone quite rusty to the underside. Overall the centre piece looks to be in generally good decorative order.

An unusually large brass and iron clockmaker's uprighting tool, stamped for Robert North and Sons, Bushey, probably late 19th/early 20th century The 10 inch circular cast brass stage fitted with three steel work clamping arms incorporating knurled locking screws and substantial vertical brass tube for a lower pump centring arbor, the top with shaped limb to carry the upper arbor, on three down-curved cast supports with angled pad feet drilled for fixing to a bench, the stage bearing stamp Rob’t North & Sons, 18 Rudolph Road, BUSHEY HERTS height of frame 53cm (21ins) high; with two other uprighting tools, both probably Swiss, circa 1900, 23cm (9ins) and 15cm (6ins) high respectively, (3). The firm Robert North and Sons of Bushey, Hertfordshire appear to have been instrument and possibly machinery suppliers most likely established during the first quarter of 20th century; and are still in business today. A rare one-minute torpedo timer attributed to Charles Frodsham but retailed by Robert North and Sons (dating to circa 1944) was sold in these rooms on September 20th 2017 (lot 313).Uprighting tools were mainly used to ensure perpendicular alignment of wheel pivots between clock or watch movement plates during the rebushing process. The basic standard design can be seen in a catalogue published by Berthoud in 1763 which is reproduced in Crom, Theodore R. Horological Shop Tools 1700-1900 on page 100 (figure 149). It is most probable that the principal item in the current lot is of Swiss manufacture and was either retailed by Robert North or used in their workshops.
