A cloisonné enamel vase, attributed to Namikawa YasuyukiJapan, Meiji period, 19th centuryOf slightly compressed rounded form, decorated with chrysanthemum and butterflies on a dark blue ground. H. 6 cm D. 8 cm.Note: These were made at an early stage of the Namikawa artists’ experiments, both technologically and artistically, in the medium of cloisonne enamel, apparently not always to the Master’s satisfaction as it was not long after the period in which these pieces were made (1870 / 80) that Yasuyuki dismissed the entire workforce and started all over.Other similar examples of early works attributed to Namikawa Yasuyuki are in the Victoria and Albert Museum and are illustrated in “Japanese Cloisonne: The Seven Treasures” by Gregory Irvine, page 84, Item 79 and page 87, Item 83.The absence of a condition statement does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of aging. Completed in red ink Michael has answered a series of 26 questions, including 'Greatest Group… Wham, Ghastliest Group… Wham, Best Single… Freeway of Love, Worst Single… Shout - easily!, Best Album… Ice on Fire - Elton John, Best Pop TV Show… T.O.T.P. (Best of Bad Bunch), Best Radio Show… Steve Wright, Favourite Film… Back to the Future, Most Stylish Pop Star… Me, Dodgiest Dresser… Andy, Romance of the Year… Andrew Ridgeley & Andrew Ridgeley, Event of the Year… Live Aid, of course, I Would Make My Personal Award of the Year to… St. Bob, or anyone who'll pay for it' etc. Three horizontal folds, and minor tears and creases to the left edge, otherwise about VG Number One, a British magazine dealing with pop music. It ran for nine years, mostly during the 1980s and was aimed at a mainly teenage market. Provenance: The present questionnaire is contained within a card folder, upon which is written, in part,'I purchased it via Unbound - a book publisher - on 29th February 2016. Paul Simper was writing a book which would later be titled 'Popstars in my Pantry - A memoir of pop mags and clubbing in the 1980's'. It was a crowd funding project and Paul offered some special items to purchase including a Sade signed postcard etc. I was lucky enough to buy the George Michael item.'

Shows railways open, sanctioned but not open and proposed, tunnel sections. A section of the Metropolitan, London's first Underground railway is open, that for the District is shown as sanctioned. Many interesting railway company names, eg 'Mid London Railway'. Folded, opens out to 25" (64cm) square. In very good condition. A fascinating item. [1]

The map now gives the affiliated Underground Group tube lines equal prominence although the still-independent Central London tube not so! Group lines and those with running rights shown with thick lines, others, eg CLR, with thin lines. Also shows power stations, sub-stations, depôts & selected tramway connections. Single-sided, opens out to 49" x 33" (124cm x 83cm). Rather fragile, some fold tears have been repaired on reverse with archive tape. A very scarce item, only the 2nd copy we have encountered. [1]

Pair of 1950s/60s thick-card COUNTER DISPLAYS from booking offices, the first is for Thames Valley (& South Midland) Express Road Services through the Thames Valley and the second is a free-standing item for United coach services from Newcastle to Scotland. Each measures around 13.5" (35cm) across and both are colourful, high-quality items with quite intricate cut-outs. In good, ex-use condition with a few small blemishes. [2]
