An incredible rare pre-WWI c1913 / 1914 Suffragette movement ' Votes For Women ' defaced Union Flag / Jack. The flag being of military issue with broad arrows to rear. The centre of the flag has been hand painted with ' Votes For Women ' to the centre. The flag retaining its original toggle and rope. A rare and important WSPU item. Measures approx; 60cm x 93cm.

Comprising; a unique pre-WWII 1938 Bristol Blenheim autographed sketch / drawing - likely from a staff gathering or party. The sketch featuring a Blenheim aircraft to centre and signed by all the crew and staff responsible. Autographs of note include; Sir Archibald Russell (chief designer of many aircraft, including Concorde), H. W. Dunn (chief Draughtsman) and a host of others - many local interest. A rare item. A central silver plated plaque reads ' Officers Mess - No. 16 Squadron - Royal Flying Corps - Saint Omer - France - 1916 '. An impressive WWI aviation related item. Measures approx; 40cm tall.No. 16 Squadron is a flying squadron of the Royal Air Force. It formed in 1915 at Saint-Omer to carry out a mixture of offensive patrolling and reconnaissance and was disbanded in 1919 with the end of the First World War.

The Chinese Labour Corps was a force of workers recruited by the British government in World War I to free troops for front line duty by performing support work and manual labour.

A rare original WWI First World War interest RFC Royal Flying Corps corkscrew and puller, once owned by Second Lieutenant Morten Hayne. The corkscrew being of simple form, with hand punched notation ' RFC - LT M HAYNE ' to top. The puller with makers marks for Lund, Patentee, London. Hayne was killed in action on 10th October, 1916 aged 18. Rare personal item from a member of the RFC.

ALFRED de BREANSKI (1852-1928), a gilt-framed and glazed oil on canvas study 'Evening', Skiddaw and Bassenthwaite, signed lower left, 50cm x 75.5cm The Auctioneer states that the item has been in private family ownership for many years and is fresh to the market from an estate clearance. The oil and canvas is behind glass and therefore is good overall original condition. Being super critical…at the top there is very minor crazing nearest the frame at the top. The are two “oil” marks about 1 cm diameter each, one is approximately 2 cms down the lot number on the left and the other mark is 2-3 inches down from that 1st mark. Please see close up image. Also there is some minor damage to the bottom which is seen to the right of the central decoration relief at the bottom of the frame and runs for approximately 4 or 5 inches. Apart from these “minor” problems the painting seems to be in good order and in the Auctioneer’s opinion exhibit’s de Breanski’s use of light – which he was known and very famous for – very well indeed.

A heavy hallmarked silver double photograph frame; marked for the Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company, Regent Street, assayed London 1900 (14cm x 11.5cm (folded) and approx. 522g)Condition is overall very good. It is heavy quality item. There are some scratches to the inside of the ovals on the frames. The fastening components are intact, nothing missing. Several images to corroborate. There is no glass and the edges are not nibbled. One small fingernail sized “ding” to the outer edge.

LAMB OF MANCHESTER; an Aesthetic Movement ebonised sideboard with three later painted panels above central drawer and two painted panelled cupboard doors, flanked by carved decoration, width 119cm. Additional InformationThe mirrors appear replaced purely because they do not reflect the wear of the rest of the item. There is a split beneath the right hand mirror. The top section in general is very loosely attached to the lower section, Rubbing to the gilding throughout, variations in colour suggesting some parts have been regilded. Exterior with general surface wear throughout. Surface knocks, chips, gouges, losses, discolouration, dust and dirt. There is a missing section of moulding to the upper left side.

The lot will be sold as a decorative item and not the ivory content. One side has a darker almost stained colour. There are some very small losses but generally well preserved. The last item appears to have suffered from heat damage as there is damage to the paint. All are very dirty with heavy wear and tear. The two icons with historic worm throughout the panels and both feature sliding wedges to the reverse. The frame of the third item also has historic worm.
