A set of bronze bucket fittings comprising: two flat-section hoops each pierced for attachment; a rim mount with reeded clips, omega-shaped hooks and flat-section handle with punched S-shaped detailing; all mounted on a modern coopered wooden body with lid. A bronze stirrup mount of Williams's Class A type 6 with slightly domed panel, vertical frond and lateral tendrils, beast-head finial, shallow ledge to the lower edge, one empty rivet hole and one rivet in situ. Cf. Williams, D. Late Saxon Stirrup-Strap Mounts, York, 1997, item 113. 24 grams, 51mm (2"). Private collection, Cambridgeshire, UK; acquired prior to 2000. Very fine condition.
10th century AD. An Anglo-Scandinavian bronze plate brooch of a bird in profile with equal-arm cross on its back, linear detail to the wing and tail, pellet eye, loop below the chest; pin-lug and catch to the reverse. Cf. Hammond, B. British Artefacts vol.2 - Middle Saxon & Viking, Witham, 2010, item 1.1.3-a. 6.85 grams, 34mm (1 1/4"). A silver-gilt discoid pendant with pellets to the integral loop, pelletted border enclosing a low-relief image of Odin between two ravens, Huginn and Muninn, grasping them by their necks. Cf. Hammond, B. M. British Artefacts Volume 2 - Middle Saxon and Viking, p.57, item 1.5.3-f. 2.7 grams, 21mm (3/4"). From a North West London collection; previously acquired in the 1980s. Fine condition.
9th-11th century AD. A silver sleeve with ropework borders to each face, flat-section loop above; inset small flint leaf-shaped blade with serrated edges. See Evans, J. Elf-arrows or elf-shot derived their name from the folklore belief that the arrows fell from the sky, and were used by the elves to kill cattle and inflict elf-shot on human beings. Elf-arrows were sometimes worn as amulets, occasionally set in silver, as a charm against witchcraft. [No Reserve] Fine condition.
7th century AD. A bronze tongue-shaped buckle plate with rectangular loop and ferrous tongue, incised guilloche border enclosing low-relief frieze of two opposed quadrupeds in profile with a third smaller one standing on the back of the right-hand animal; three pierced attachment lugs to the reverse. A natural diamond crystal set with square table facet uppermost in an Elizabethan era gold finger ring; the diamond a natural crystal, amber in colour with inclusions; the ring with keeled D-section hoop, running scrolls to the outer faces, rectangular bezel with cell and lateral swags. James Bond original screen used prop IDA control panel. An IDA control panel from the James Bond 007 film "The World is not Enough". Provenance - Acquired from Weird and Wonderful prop hire company. The prop company supplied numerous props for this film which were returned following filming and The Bond Museum in Keswick were able to acquire them from the company for display. This is an original film used item. This item may also have been used in the film 'Die Another Day' as it was acquired at the end of this film.
