Originally handmade by mothers in Africa for their children from old fabric and cloth, the golly doll was adopted as the mascot and trademark for the Robertson's confectionery brand around 1910 after the company's founder John Robertson visited the US and noticed children playing with them. Robertson's Gollies have been collected by people across the UK and around the world for generations but garnered a contentious image in the 1980s because of links to racism. The trademark was removed from Robertson's branding in 2001.

A very rare item! Hornby-Dublo illuminated shop display sign, appears unused and in its original packing box with card internal fitments and hanging brackets. With original Meccano advice note dated June 1954. Advice note number and address match the delivery label on the outer box. This is an extremely rare and valuable item of Dublo history
Hornby-Dublo 3-rail pre-war Sir Nigel Gresley 4-6-2 loco & tender LNER 4468, with valences, black name-plates. It is probable that the wheels were replaced. The collector spoons are first issue post-war long type. Vendor advises this is a factory repaired item and returned in a DL1 clockwork box with repair label no. 25095. Box ref MW 1780 4,250 9/38. Some wear on corners of lid but probably the best example seen for a very long time. With corrugated wrapper might be original but is natural corrugated not coloured. Accepting that the loco is a repaired item it is (NM) (BE)

Brimtoy station ‘Bridge Street’ bluish colour platform with white edging, red tiled central area with two lamp posts in front, Signal box at one end, luggage & booking office at other end. Both of which have plain grey roofs. The whole item will benefit by cleaning. Some gentle creasing to one end ramp but no dents or scratches – just a few marks.

Frame tests as gold with engraved inscription to back. Miniature measures approx. 7.2cm x 6.1cm (72mm x 61mm). James Daniell married Lucy (d.1846), the second daughter of Peregrine Butler of Dungarvan, Ireland. Their daughter, Frances, married Lindsey Merrick Peter Burrell. Their son, Peter Robert Burrell succeeded as 5th Bt. and 4th Lord Gwydyr in 1870. Eliza Martha Pasley (1776-1854), daughter of James Hodges, Esq. married the son of Lucy and James Daniell, also called James, in 1795.
