Torcop Group, Ca. End of 4th century BC.An inverted pear-shaped pottery oinochoe with a tapered foot supporting its graceful form. The vessel, which can be attributed to the Painter of Populonia, features a tall neck with a round rim, complemented by a substantial handle. The main body is adorned with two portraits of noble ladies, positioned facing each other. These depictions are separated by a stylised palmette motif on the front of the vessel, and another palmette graces the area below the handle on the back. Each profile of the ladies is meticulously rendered, with a white-painted face with delicate features and red-painted hair in saccoi with beaded embellishments. At the heart of the scene is a haloed, bare-chested Bodhisattva seated on a bed, with one leg hanging. His right hand is raised, and on the side sits Chandaka with his hands outstretched in a gesture offering a turban. Chandaka is dressed in a turban, similar to the one he offers to the Bodhisattva. Behind the Bodhisattva, his wife is asleep. On the opposing side of the Bodhisattva, a guard is seated, holding a spear. Ca. Late 4th century BC.A red-figure bell krater, a vessel for mixing wine and water during symposium, crafted from terracotta and decorated with white and yellow details over black glaze. It features a large, deep body with a flared rim, supported by a stemmed round foot. Two upturned handles facilitate ease of handling. On Side A of the krater, a maenad takes centre stage, draped in a chiton fastened below her breasts by a belt. She holds a casket in her left hand and a mirror in her right.
