Triang, Other - An unboxed and unmarked vintage child mannequin doll with a Triang Push-Along-Dog. The vintage mannequin doll is jointed, with blue open eyes, open mouth and made of hard composite material, standing approximately 60cms in height. The doll is somewhat heavy weighing approximately 3.3 kg which suggests that the doll could have been used as a point of sale item in a retail capacity. The doll has a couple of marks to the undersides of the legs, but overall appears to be in Good condition, also included in the lot is a wooden, metal bound storage chest with three drawers, approximately 32 cm x 37 cm x 33 cm. A 19th century oak dresser base of small proportions: slightly overhanging top above single drawer and two panelled doors below, on plinth style base (117cm wide x 45cm deep x 83cm high)The overhanging top has been cut quite roughly along the sides, the front is finished and polished. There are dark areas to the ends of the top leading the Auctioneer to believe that it probably had a superstructure at some stage. There are a couple of splits (one about 7" or 8") running along the grain, the other is where two planks of wood are separating. The handles have obviously been changed on the single central top drawer and the two panelled doors open to reveal a shelf which may well have been replaced some time ago. It is noted that the piece is, in the Auctioneer's opinion, quite a vernacular piece not with any 'real' sophistication. The piece is noted to have panelled sides with no return mouldings to the bottom leading the Auctioneer to suspect that the piece may well have been custom-built for a particular alcove or location. Colour pleasing and in the Auctioneer's opinion the piece should be bought as a nice item of furniture and not a pure 'antique'.
A good refectory table: finely figured and patinated thick two-plank walnut top with cleated ends; four oak gun-barrel-style supports united by an H-form stretcher (212 cm wide x 78 cm deep x 76 cm high)The top of the table is removable and in the Auctioneer's opinion the top has a very nice colour. There is bit of a gap between the two planks and there are some water marks which, in the Auctioneer's opinion, could be remedied by a re-polish. A very heavy item overall, the top is very thick (approx. 2") ; the base is very nice and much darker than the top, scuffs and some marks commensurate with age and usage mostly confined to the bottom of the legs. The item has a moulded H-form stretcher which is lighter in places than others and has some scratches etc. About 1½-2feet in from one of the ends there is a natural crack of about 4-5" around a natural knot in the wood and in Auctioneer's opinion does not detract from the overall look of the table. Overall a stunning looking table for the right location
