Photocopies of these certificates are available on request or the engineers can be contacted upon request The tests carried out are as follows and are titled: Form 55 - "Report of Examination of Steam Boilers when cold other than superheaters and economisers" Form 55A - "Report of Examination of Steam Boiler, Under Normal Steam Pressure" as outlined in the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000 - DETR 1705. Condition Report / Extra Information Condition Report and History of Lot 132 - 10 ¼ Royal Scot Locomotive The locomotive was originally owned by a gentleman in the Northampton region who passed away 2-3 years ago. He was a very skilled engineer by trade whose working life led him to become an avid collector of fine steam engines, very rare specialist clocks, aero engines and many other mechanical instruments. It is believed that the locomotive has been in the gentleman's possession, for approximately 50+ years and was passed to the family after his death. With this in mind we have no evidence of where he purchased the locomotive or even when he acquired it or even who built the locomotive and no plans or drawings have been provided. Comments made by family members and the vendor, all state it has been stored in a dry garage for a long period of time and has had very little use. With this in mind the evidence is supported by the engineers that carried out the certification of the boiler, who stated the Boiler is 40+ years old and the locomotive hasn't been used a lot in that time period. However as you can see by the videos provided is the links at the bottom of this page, the locomotive is in superb running order. Please find the attached photos relating to the test certificate itself and also 2 images of the boiler inspection taking place. I do apologise for the quality of the photos however. I have personally seen the locomotive is running order and have operated the locomotive myself, and I can confirm that all back head fittings are in working order. Going back to the fact that no drawings or plans have been provided, we cannot be 100% that this item is by Bassett Lowke, hence the ? in our description. However, going on past experience, this locomotive does look very similar to the Henry Greenly des
