ROLEX SKY-DWELLER   ON SALE  MATERIAL: 18CT EVEROSE GOLD SIZE: 42mm DIAL: SUNBURST DIAL BRACELET: OYSTER ** DECEMBER 2018 MODEL**  MODEL ID: 362935 ***COMPLETE SET*** ***GENUINE CERTIFIED ROLEX - BUY WITH CONFIDENCE*** TO REQUEST A VIDEO OF THIS LOT, PLEASE EMAIL US AT info@josephjamesandpartners.co.uk PROVIDING YOUR NAME, THE LOT INFORMATION AND MOBILE TELEPHONE NUMBER...    ** DISCONTINUED MODEL ** ORIGINAL BOX & PAPERWORK (PRESENT) OPERATING INSTRUCTION BOOKLET (PRESENT) ORIGINAL WARRANTY CARD (PRESENT) GET YOUR HANDS ON ONE OF ROLEX'S MOST SOUGHT AFTER TIME PIECES !!!     A FANTASTIC INVEST TIMEPIECE !!!   THE OYSTER PERPETUAL SKY-DWELLER IN 18 CT EVEROSE GOLD WITH A SUNBURST DIAL AND AN OYSTER BRACELET. This distinctive watch is characterized by its second time zone display on an off-centre disc on the dial. Furthermore, its innovative system for setting the functions, using the rotatable Ring Command bezel, is unique to Rolex.      SUNBURST DIAL A STRIKING CHARACTERISTIC   A fixed inverted red triangle on the dial points to the chosen reference time – the time at home or at the traveller’s usual workplace – on the off-centre 24-hour disc. At a glance, this 24-hour display clearly distinguishes daytime hours from night-time hours in the other time zone.   A deep red rectangle in one of the 12 windows around the dial indicated the current month, a striking characteristic of the Saros annual calendar. This ingenious mechanism simplifies life for the wearer of the watch, who no longer needs to think about adjusting the date at the end of a 30-day month. The annual calendar displays the correct date through the year. Only one adjustment is needed – on 1 March (February having only 28 or 29 days). The date is connected to local time and automatically changes according to the traveller’s local time zone.    THE FLUTED BEZEL A ROLEX SIGNATURE The Rolex fluted bezel is a mark of distinction. Originally, the fluting of the Oyster bezel had a functional purpose: it served to screw the bezel onto the case helping to ensure the waterproofness of the watch. It was therefore identical to the fluting on the case back, which was also screwed onto the case for waterproofness, using specific Rolex tools. Over time, the fluting became an aesthetic element, a genuine Rolex signature feature. Today the fluted bezel is a mark of distinction, always in gold.    18 CT EVEROSE GOLD AN EXCLUSIVE PATENT To preserve the beauty of its pink gold watches, Rolex created and patented an exclusive 18 ct pink gold alloy cast in its own foundry: Everose gold. Introduced in 2005, 18 ct Everose is used on all Rolex Oyster models in pink gold.    THE OYSTER BRACELET ALCHEMY OF FORM AND FUNCTION The Sky-Dweller is fitted on a solid-link Oyster bracelet in Oystersteel, in the case of the white Rolesor version, or, for the yellow Rolesor version, an Oyster bracelet combining Oystersteel and yellow gold. The Oyster bracelet benefits from the new concealed attachment system beneath the bezel which ensures seamless visual continuity between the bracelet and case. It is equipped with a folding Oysterclasp and also features the ingenious Rolex-patented Easylink rapid extension system that allows the wearer to easily increase the bracelet length by approximately 5 mm, for additional comfort in any circumstance.    DUAL TIME ZONE SIMULTANEOUS DISPLAY The two time zones are displayed simultaneously. Local time is indicated by the conventional centre hour, minute and seconds hands. It can be set quickly and easily by means of a mechanism that allows the hour hand to be adjusted independently in one-hour increments both forwards and backwards. Neither the minute and seconds nor the reference time in the second time zone are affected. And, since the watch is not stopped, accuracy is preserved. Reference time in the traveller’s usual place of residence or work is read on a rotating off-centre disc. A fixed inverted red triangle points to the wearer’s chosen reference time. The disc’s 24-hour display allows travellers to clearly distinguish daytime hours from night-time hours in the distant time zone (for example, 10 p.m. versus 10 a.m.). The date change is linked to local time and occurs within a few milliseconds at midnight. So the date displayed in the aperture is always the current date in the wearer’s local time zone.    THE CYCLOPS LENS A MAGNIFYING LENS The Cyclops lens is one of the most distinctive Rolex features, and one of the most recognizable. Named after the one-eyed giant of Greek mythology, the Cyclops lens magnifies the watch’s emblematic date display for easy reading. Behind the Cyclops, as with every feature of a Rolex timepiece, lies a history of invention, research and development, and the endless search for perfection.    9001 MOVEMENT SUPERLATIVE PERFORMANCE The Sky-Dweller is equipped with calibre 9001, a self-winding mechanical movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. Introduced in 2012, it is one of the most complex calibres ever created by Rolex watchmakers. Nonetheless, it is engineered to ensure simplicity of use: a selector wheel on the outside edge of the 9001 ensures the interaction of the movement and the bezel of the watch to set the Sky-Dweller’s functions. Like all Rolex Perpetual movements, the 9001 is a certified Swiss Chronometer, a designation reserved for high-precision watches that have successfully passed the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) tests. Its architecture, in common with all Oyster watch movements, makes it singularly reliable.       VAT STATUS: NO VAT PAYABLE ON THE ITEM !!!  (SAVE 20%) PAYMENT METHOD: BACS TRANSFER ONLY (NO CASH / NO CARD PAYMENTS)  PAYMENT DEADLINE: 5PM FRIDAY 22nd OF SEPTEMBER 2023 (unless the reserve is met or bid accepted before, then the paymemt deadline will be 5pm the following day) *IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ABIDE BY THESE PAYMENT TERMS, DO NOT BID* COLLECTION FROM: SALES ADDRESS   DELIVERY: AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST                       Auctioneers Remarks:       All bids submitted are valid and taken as provisional if reserve has not been met.  For Buyer Premium / VAT Charges, Please Refer To 'Additional Fees'  Late Payment Will Result In Receiving Late Payment Fees, Charged At A Daily Rate Of 3% +VAT Of The Total Payable Invoice
