A late 19th/early 20th century half pearl fringe necklace, suspending a graduated fringe of foliate panels and centred with a flowerhead cluster, set throughout with half pearls, gold mounted, (half pearls untested for origin), length 38cmHalf pearls have slightly variable greyish and pinkish creamy-white hues, some with more noticeable discolouration due to age and wear. Most of the half pearls have surface scuffs and nicks, occasional half pearls have fractures and chips. It is possible that some of the brighter half pearls may be later replacements. The necklace mounts have surface wear, scuffs and nicks commensurate for use and the clasp is functioning. The necklace appear to be unmarked and gold standard is untested. The safety chain is later added. The fringe section measures 7.5cm in length and the cluster panel measures 1.1cm diameter. Gross weight approx. 14.8gm

The two principal diamonds have estimated SI2 to P1 clarity and I to K colour, assessed mounted. Remainining diamonds have variable colour and clarity, some with a greyish, fractured appearance. Largest diamond weight approx. 0.25ct, remaining diamonds graduate from approx. 0.12ct to 0.005ct in size. The pendant mount has general surface wear, with some thinning to the edges of the panel and settings, and patchy wear to the tips of the claws. Some small solder joins/repairs are visible at junctions within the frame. The hinged bale has been soldered shut. Metal standard is untested but possibly a gold and silver combination.
