1982 TRIUMPH Spitfiree Mk IV Châssis n° TFadW2aT008169 Carte grise française Lancée en Octobre 1962 au Salon de Londres la Spitfi re était la réponse du groupe Standard-Triumph à lÂ’Austin Healey Sprite. Le châssis est basé sur celui de la Triumph Herald bien quÂ’il soit néanmoins largement modifié et spécifique à la Spitfire sur de nombreux points. La Triumph Spitfire 1500 qui succède à la MarkIV sera la dernière série produite par le groupe anglais (1974-1980). La nationalisation du groupe mère de Triumph (British-Leyland) en 1974 annonce le déclin des Spitfire il nÂ’y a plus beaucoup dÂ’investissement dans le modèle et les normes de sécurité et anti-pollution annoncent la fin de la production en 1980. Cependant les stocks de Spitfire sont encore importants et restent vendus quelques années après lÂ’arrêt de la production. Notre modèle est lÂ’un des derniers puisque sa mise en circulation est de 1982. Son moteur 4 cylindre en ligne 8 soupapes (Longue course) développe 70 chevaux pour une cylindrée de 1493 cm3 la boite est à 4 rapports synchronisés. Notre exemplaire est doté de sa capote et de son hard top. Elle se présente dans un état dÂ’origine correct et nécessitera quelques rares retouches esthétiques et mécaniques pour une bonne présentation générale. DÂ’un extérieur vert anglais avec un hard top noir son intérieur bois et toile est en accord avec la simplicité du véhicule. The 1500 replaces the mkIV and was produced from 1974 to 1980 ( last units produced).Our vehicle is one of the last cause it was registered for road use in 1982. ItÂ’s a four cylinder 8 valves of 1493cc with a 4 gear Synchronized transmission. Convertible with two choices: removable roof or hood. On the whole the car is in a fair condition and just need few works to be well looked. Body is paint with an English green and the roof is black. The dashboard is decorated with wood panel and seats are in canvas.

A 17th Century Italian Walnut Cofferet. The hinged lid with a raised panel to the centre and moulded edge above carved front and sides enriched with S-scroll of foliage with dolphin head terminals; the front centred by an armorial cartouche. The gadrooned base raised on lion paw feet, 13 ins (33 cms) high, 22½ ins x 10¾ ins (57 cms x 27.5 cms).
A Small 17th Century Italian Walnut Coffer. The front panel carved with scrolling foliage incorporating grotesque heads issuing spurs of trefoils from their mouths and flanking a central cartouche. The chip carved base on protruding lions paw feet, 22½ ins (57 cms) high, 44½ ins (113 cms) wide, 19 ins (48 cms) deep.
A 16th Century Flemish Carved Oak Buffet. The rectangular moulded top above two arcaded cupboard doors relief carved with St Peter & St Paul flanking a further saint standing in a small centre panel. The frieze drawer below enriched with zoomorphic scrolls of foliage and centred by a face mask bearing an iron swing handle in its mouth. The uprights and turned front posts adorned with bold split spindle appliqués, with a panelled back leading down to a base shelf with nulled rail, 54½ ins (139 cms) high, 44 ins (112 cms) wide, 19 ins (48 cms) deep.
A Rare Late Gothic Boarded Oak Coffer. The lid on replacement iron strap hinges with decoratively pierced finials. The front board carved with The Legends of Saint George & the Dragon with a crowned princess and King & Queen onlooking from castle window in the background. 24 ins (61 cms) high, 42½ ins (108 cms) wide, 16 ins (40 cms) deep.* (A similarly carved 14th century panel illustrated in Early English Furniture & Woodwork by Cescinsky & Gribble, Volume II, page 14, fig. 13 from The Victorian & Albert Museum)*.
A Gothic Carved Oak Box Settle. The triple panelled back carved with rippling linen-fold to the front and rear in a moulded framework with turreted spires adorning the uprights surmounted by seated hound finials (one missing). The seat on iron hinges above a box compartment enclosed by two horizontal panels of linen-fold carving flanking an iron lock and arched tracery centre panel. The sides with further linen-fold carving. 57 ins (145 cms) high, 46 ins (117 cms) side, 20 ins (51 cms) deep.
A Long Relief Carved Walnut Frieze Panel centred by a pair of profiled winged cherubs bearing pendant garlands; their torsos rising from long lavishly scrolling trails of undulating foliage issuing fruiting seed pods and flowers entwined with tendrils. The carving partially unfinished. 9½ ins x 60 ins (23.5 cms x 152 cms).
An 18th Century French Figured Walnut Val de Loire Cupboard. The cornice overhanging a pair of upper cupboard doors over two frieze drawers and further base cupboard doors. The fielded panel facades edged in moulding and carved with foliate sprays to the corners, with geometric moulding applied to the surrounds. Standing on bracket feet 86 ins (218 cms) high, 55 ins (140 cms) wide 21 ins (53 cms) deep.
An Elizabethan/James I Inlaid Oak Coffer. The top having a moulded edge above an intricate parquetry banded frieze, with a small raised panel of carved strap-work to the centre surrounding the keyhole. The parquetry banding continued down the narrow vertical centre panel edged in chip carved moulding and flanked by panels of marquetried flowers cascading from urns. The stiles adorned with a carved atlante and caryatid, 31½ins (78 cms high, 51 ins (130 cms) wide, 21 ins (55 cms) deep.*
A 17th Century & Later Carved & Inlaid Oak Full Tester Bed. The arcaded headboard inlaid with 'flowerpotte' marquetry panels, flanked by caryatids above diamond shaped plaques bearing the initials A & R, and incorporating a secret sliding panel compartment. The intricately carved foot posts above square base sections inlaid with chevron bands.. 83 ins (210 cms) high, 56 ins (142 cms) wide, 86 ins (218 cms) long.
A Charles II Carved Oak Vestry Over-door Panel centred by a slightly convex cartouche of elongated oval form bearing the inscription 'IOHN:WILLIAM GEORGE:HEGINBOTHAM CHURCH:WARDENES' defined against a recessed ground beneath a scroll-crested pediment, and flanked by the date 1667 and voluted scrolls. Retaining thick brown paint-work. 12 ins x 32 ins (31 cms x 82 cms)*.
