Oriental 19th Century scarlet silk temple/wall hanging, the textile is flanked by multiple figures embroidered in silk and metal threads, the centre has a symbolic motif interspersed with a foliate design, the wall hanging also has two strips of silk bearing Oriental symbols, the textile is supported at the reverse in a printed linen of floral design, together with a similar 19th/early 20th Century wall hanging panel with metal threads and mirrored roundel detail, the border depicting motifs of flowers and birds. The centre depicts figures and oriental symbols, the base of the panel has a braided fringe with wooden bobble detail. The reverse of the textile is backed onto a very fine glazed linen depicting hand painted figures in ink, 240 cm wide x 66 cm deep, a/f, the textile has areas of silk missing (for restoration)
