A French Sappers sword with brass fish scale handle, steel blade and brass and textile panel scabbard, 67cm long Condition Report: Lot 845: Wear and small losses to fabric panels. End of scabbard looks to have faint solder marks indicating a small repair. A couple of small nicks to edge of blade and some light surface corrosion.
A 19th Century Chinese export lacquer sewing box, the inner cover with landscape decoration and fitted with tray, compartments and a few ivory sewing tools, 39cm wide/see illustration Condition Report: Lot 60: Cover and sides worn in patches, some chips and losses to lacquer particularly at corners and edges. Inner cover landscape panel basically good although cracks to lacquer at edges. Splits to carcass by hinges and hinges look replaced in an amateur way. Locks broken / missing, no key. Drawer under has adjustable flap with landscape decoration, this has come loose but the lacquer is fair. Overall in need of some attention.
A 19th Century oval gold locket, (unmarked), with engine turned decoration to the covers, containing a mother-of-pearl panel decorated with hair sprays, initials in gilt and dated in gilt August 1832 and a painted porcelain panel depicting a cherub, inscribed verso 'painted by W Corden Augt 1832'
An 18th Century oak chest of small proportions, the hinged cover above a triple panel front with drawer below, 63.5cm wide Condition Report: Condition - Hinged cover split and later repaired, also pitted and scratched. Escutcheon plate later, front stained and with water damage, both sides pitted, lock missing to drawer and old worm holes.
