An early 20th Century mahogany and satinwood banded and ebony strung letter rack with Irish silver mounts (by HLS within a shamrock shaped stamp, Dublin 1912), with applied central plaque inscribed "M Slater from H M and J J Stewart as a token of appreciation of valuable services rendered 1914-1919", 39 cm wide CONDITION REPORTS Overall with general wear and scuffs, some scratches and knocks to edges, some chips to edges, stringing lifting to right-hand side, top section/moulding to back has warped and separated at join, back panel has some small splits, base has warped slightly and has some replacement screws.

An early 19th Century oak cased long case clock, the arched hood with swan neck pediment centred by a brass finial with glazed door flanked by gilt metal mounted fluted pilasters over a mahogany cross-banded trunk door to a fielded panel base on bracket feet, the arched dial with painted oval of a young woman in a landscape holding a bunch of flowers within gilt borders, the chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals centred by a subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture inscribed "Hill, Stafford", to an eight day striking movement, 216 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Case with scuffs, scratches and stains, various chips and losses, quite a few cracks and splits to the wood, and some separating at joins, hood with replacement wooden section across the top (please see photos),various cracks and losses and glued repairs, various chips and losses, denting to the ball finial (please see photos)., dial with wear and crazing/craqueleur to finish, various areas of over-painting where decoration has flaked away, some slight warping to the face.
A circa 1900 plated on copper caster in the manner of Charles Robert Ashbee of The Guild of Handicraft Limited, the hammered and pierced scrollwork engraved domed cover over a cylindrical main body set with five polychrome enamelled panels, each depicting Classical maiden, raised on a spread turned foot, 18.5 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Plate is quite worn so that copper is visible, copper to top appears to have a hammered effect, one panel (of lady wearing dark blue robes) has several cracks and is also chipped, some of the copper mounts to the sides of the panels has joins to the vertical sections, and others have joins only at their corners, foot rim separating at join and has solder visible to underside, caster has deposits of pink silver polish to interior, enamel appears to be hard, some of the panels appear to be slightly rounded to the outside and follow the contours of the caster more than others - some are more square, all panels appear to be applied.
An 18th Century German Rococo silver mounted dressing mirror, the frame of scrolling shell and foliate design, interspersed by panels of various wild and domestic animals in landscapes, including eagle and stork, bird feeding nest of young, rabbits, stag and hound, peacock, etc. enclosing a shaped mirrored plate, bearing hand-written inscription to the wooden backing, formerly with easel mount, now wall mounted, hall-marked Augsburg 1759/61 and with maker's mark IV/O, 53 cm wide x 81.5 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Overall with wear and tarnish, appears to have a gilt finish which has partly worn away revealing tarnished silver, some pins which attach it to the wooden back appear to be missing, wooden back with various splits, chips and losses, a bolt protruding from the top, silver mounts generally with some dents, mirror plate is a later replacement (appears to be fairly modern mirror plate), some old woodworm holes to the back, and a couple of sections of back panel broken off and missing.
A circa 1790 Bilston enamel patch box of oval waisted form, the main body green ground, the lid with floral spray decorated panel opening to reveal a mirror, 3.3 cm wide CONDITION REPORTS Wear and tarnish, mirror plate very deteriorated and broken, enamelling with signs of restoration throughout.
A Persian runner, the central rectangular panel with five shaped medallions on a cream ground within narrow panelled borders, 309 x 74 cm CONDITION REPORTS In used condition, is slightly dirty, with some slight discolouration, has wear to one corner at edge with small section missing, some wear to the pile particularly on the outer edges, but overall appears reasonably sound.
An Isfahan rug with an all over design of birds, floral scrolls and flowers within conforming panelled borders with birds and rabbits, 211 x 136 cm CONDITION REPORTS In used condition, Is slightly dirty, has some light wear, pile is thinning in a couple of areas in the central panel and towards one outer edge, both ends appear to have a little bit of loose thread, and some fraying towards the ends, outer edge are rubbed, but overall appears reasonably sound.
A Heriz carpet, the central rectangular panel with an all over design of hooks, scrolls and stylised motifs within broad and narrow panelled borders, 320 x 238 cm CONDITION REPORTS Some wear and dirt, over-stitching to sides, losses to ends and fringing missing, some fraying and stringiness and holes to edges, extensive stitching repairs, patching in and re-weaving etc. to borders, and also repairs to centre field.
A Regency ladies mahogany and ebony strung desk, the plain top above a tambour enclosing a pigeon holed interior with four small drawers, the writing surface pulling out with tooled and tooled leather slope, over two frieze drawers and square tapered legs, 90.5 cm wide CONDITION REPORTS Has knocks, dumps, scratches, small chips to edges for veneer throughout the piece conducive to age and day to day wear. The back panel has some splits and there is a large split running from right edge to approx half way across (please see photo) As you look at the desk the left side has a split running across the panel from back to front and several downwards splits running down the panel towards the front edge and various other small splits on side. A small patch repair approx 2 x 2 cm to wards the back edge of the other side panel, various other knock, dumps and scratches to this panels, where the inlay runs across the panel there is splitting to the join from drying out. The top has a split running from left edge to almost a third of way across the top and several other smaller splits, there is a patch repair to back right corner approx 6 x 2 cm, a similar smaller one to back left corner and a small repair to centre back edge 1 x 1 cm approx. The tambour show general wear, knock, dump, some small chips to edges throughout but sound. All out handles and probably not original, The interior shows general wear throughout, lifting to veneers to desk base - left side and right side both has several cracks to veneers running from out edge across to well, leather is worn with some cracking and splitting, replacement hinges to writing surface. Drawers - knocks and bumps throughout with some veneer missing to edge - see photos, legs again very similar to drawers, overall pretty piece but would benefit greatly from some good restoration.
A Victorian mahogany Davenport desk in the Gillows manner, the sliding top with three quarter pierced brass gallery over a sloping embossed leather writing surface opening to reveal two amboyna veneered drawers and two dummy drawers over a lattice work, brass and fabric panel flanked by moulded pilasters with acanthus scrolling corbels flanked by a single slim drawer to one side and secret stationery drawer over a slim drawer and four graduated drawers all raised on squat reeded supports to brass caps and castors CONDITION REPORTS Overall wear, scuffs, chips and losses, various repairs and replacement sections, cracking and lifting to veneers and some losses, small drawers to top of each side now appear to be drawer fronts only and have had sections of wood added to interior to hold them in place, overall some old woodworm holes, glued repairs an various replacements to mouldings, some damage and losses to grille to front, various chips, water stains, ink stains, etc., some losses to interior.
A 19th Century Chinese rosewood and mother of pearl inlaid dwarf cabinet, the plain top above a multiple panelled front with two cupboard doors and two drawers, each decorated with exotic animals amongst grape and vine, raised on an ornate carved base with scroll feet, 68.5 cm wide x 61.5 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Overall with wear and scuffs, some splits and cracks to top, some mouldings coming loose e.g. to edges of doors, some chips and losses, including some losses to mouldings - for example to one side, which also has some staining, roughness and damage to panel (please see photos).
A late 17th Century oak coffer, the three panel top with moulded stiles and edge above a foliate lunette carved frieze and three guilloche carved medallion panels interspersed by guilloche stiles and flanked by foliate carved stile supports, 136 cm wide CONDITION REPORTS Overall with wear, scuffs, chips and marks conducive to age and use, various chips, cracks and losses (please see photos for examples), lock mechanism appears to be later as there are some signs of other previous holes in this area to the front, interior base may have been re-stained and/or had some replacements, overall however in reasonably tidy condition. It is not known whether carving is original, however it does appear to be consistent to the front and sides.
Two circular carved ivory boxes to include a Chinese example, the lid carved with a scrolling dragon in low relief, characters to base 7cm dia x 4cm high, the other a Japanese example with the central circular panel carved with a lions head, two further lions circling, beetle motif to underside base 7cm dia x 3.5cm high
A 19th Century French Boulle work ebonised wood clock garniture, the circular gilt metal dial with enamelled Roman numerals, eight day striking movement marked Philippe Rouen, the case decorated with gilt metal masks and acanthus leaf motifs, surmounted by a flambeau finial, a glazed panel below revealing the sunburst pendulum bob, raised on scrolling feet, together with a pair of matching boulle work urns, clock 50cms high.
