HENRIETTE RONNER KNIP (NETHERLANDS 1821 - 1909), KITTEN WITH CHESSBOARD oil on panel, signed 45cm x 32cm Framed and under glass Note: Henriette Ronner Knip is a well-known Dutch artist who specialised in painting animals in domestic scenes, largely focusing on cats. Coming from a prominent family of artists, Ronner Knip sold her first painting at the age 15, and later in 1876 was commissioned to paint the Queen of Belgium's favourite lapdogs. With patrons such as the King of Hanover, Emperor Wilhelm I of Prussia, and the Princess of Wales, Ronner Knip cemented her name as one of the leading painters in her genre.
Reclamation of Architectural Panelling - a quantity of very good quality light oak panelling and doors (possibly originally from an ocean liner) currently in situ at a property in WN1 (Wigan, Lancashire) measuring 202.5 cm (high); panels widths are 345 cm; 292.5 cm; 39 cm and 79 cm. A further panel incorporates a carving of a knight in armour 124 cm (wide) and two tapered topped panels with copper insets are each 155.5 cm (wide) - included in the lot is a matched panelled radiator cover incorporating Mouseman mouse 87.5 cm (high) x 159 cm (wide) x 29.5 cm (deep) and four internal doors - All panels are currently screwed to the walls of a property which is being renovated and it is the responsibility of the purchaser to arrange removal, although The Auction Centre can arrange delivery
