The front having style and rail construction with two panels having symmetrical carving. Large late Victorian/Edwardian pollard oak sideboard, the raised back having scroll pediment applied with relief floral festoon, large central mirror flanked by two pairs of mirrors with shelves supported by fluted and gadrooned columns, the base with central long and two short drawers, above two upright cupboards, shelf and lower cupboard, all with ornate drop handles and stamp backplates, the cupboards with fish, shell and floral carved framed panel doors, on large bun feet, 181cm wide
A Chinese Blue and White Deep Dish decorated in the Kraak style, Wanli (1573-1619) the dish deeply potted with a pronounced well and a flaring rim, decorated in good underglaze cobalt blue with a central octagonal bordered panel depicting birds in a stylized landscape scene with peony, chrysanthemum and rocks the remainder of the centre filled with fishscale and key pattern segments, the border with eight panels depicting chrysanthemum and precious objects between smaller panels depicting castanets on alternating fishscale and key pattern ground, the reverse with eight sketchily drawn oval roundels with flowers alternating with a dagger shape motif, the inner edge of the foot rim with diagonal chatter marks typical of wares from the period. Kraak porcelain is believed to be named after the Portugese ships (Carracks) in which it was transported to the West." Diam c37cm Excellent condition for this type of ware with no restoration. Very slight glaze fritting to the rim ; the footrim with typical grit adhesion and a small inner chip; the piece slightly unevenly potted with a fainty warped profile as is common with these pieces. A Chinese porcelain blue and white saucer dish decorated with the three friends , Xuande mark, 18th century of shallow dished form with a short incurving foot, decorated in underglaze blue with a central panel of pine, prunus and bamboo, the so called three friends of winter , within two concentric circles, the border with four bamboo sprays edged with two further concentric circles, the exterior similarly decorated and the foot with a six character mark of the Xuande period (1426-1435). The three friends of winter are regularly depicted on early Ming porcelains. This dish aims to reflect those pieces but was made later, probably in the eighteenth century. The paste of the foot and the colour of the blue suggest a dating to the Yongzheng period (1723-1735). " Diam 13.2cm Excellent condition with no restoration View on auctionatrium.com

Rear gilt spike loose at top. Leather and red silk sweatband. Crown maker’s label ` D Jones Manchester`. Some minor moth damage.

The rear panel with accommodation for a back pack. Small first aid pocket to the left front hip. Supple condition with no damage.

Gilt brass eagle and swastika pommel. Gilt crossguard with central anchor panel and scabbard release catch. Simulated ivory grip with twist wire binding. Contained in its gilt brass lightening bolt pattern scabbard. Two loose hanging rings. Complete with a single black velvet hanging strap with gilt alloy mounts and lion mask buckle. Some wear to gilt and heavy dents to scabbard.

Chamois ear pads and velvet forehead band. Minor surface scuffs. Leather remains supple.

White metal four bar guard. The bars decorated with laurel leaves which are continued to the pommel. Leather covered grip with twist wire binding. Contained in its chrome plated steel scabbard with two loose hanging rings. Some plating damage to scabbard. EIC ceased trading in 1858 after the Mutiny
US Navy Officer’s Sword single edged straight blade with central fuller. The blade finely etched with USN anchor and floral panels. Named panel to the rear `James E Withrow`. Gilt guard cast with oak and acorn spray with `USN` leading into the knuckle bow terminating with a dolphin head. Gilt pommel with an American eagle surrounded by stars. Shagreen grip with gilt twist wire binding. Contained in its gilt mounted leather scabbards. The mounts with rope and dolphin decoration. Complete with twisted gilt sword knot. Together with a printed linen stars and stripes flag. Sword in clean condition.

The barrel with traces of silver scroll and chevron decoration. Lock plate with crude floral decoration. Flint ring neck cock. 3/4 wooden stock with checkered grip. Inlaid ivory stars to the side panel and lower grip (some absent). Brass flat butt plate, trigger guard and end cap. Minor old repair to stock.
