A VERY FINE QUALITY SIGNED JAPANESE MEIJI PERIOD SHIBAYAMA, IVORY, LACQUER AND SILVER-METAL TRAY, of barbed quatrefoil form on engraved ruyi form bracket feet, the centre with a shaped ivory panel decorated in fine inlaid detail with a lady and boy in a garden setting, the inlay in mother-of-pearl, stained ivory and hardstones with gilt cloud embellishing, within a an enamelled silver-metal filigree border, enclosed by a gold lacquer surround of cranes onlaid in mother-of-pearl and birds in gilt metal, the pierced silver-metal filigree rim with enamelled heads of chrysanthemum, the underside with a gold lacquer seal on a nashiji ground, 10.8in wide x 8.7in x 1.3in high.
