The sprung down-in seat upholstered in crimson velveteen and enclosing a box compartment below, 49 ins (125 cms) high, 29 ins (74 cms) wide, 23 ins (58 cms) deep.

The centre panel depicting a boldly carved plant issuing three flower heads and two large leaves on a recessed ground studded with rosette whorls. The flanking panels carved with scrolling twinned-heart designs. The stile supports scribed with undulating garlands, measuring 38 ¾ ins (73 cms) high, 53½ ins (136 cms) wide, 22¼ ins (56.5 cms) deep.

The back panel centred by a channel moulded diamond enriched with incised trails of grape & vine and framing a foliate carved motif, with fluttering pennants at each corner interspersed with wrythen whorls. The shaped arms above reverse baluster supports and corresponding legs joined by peripheral stretchers.

A Rare Double-sided Westmorland Joined Oak Court Cupboard believed to have been taken from a cottage in the Lake District village of Kirby Stephen where it had been built into the wall and served as a room divide. The `parlour` side having a moulded cornice above a frieze of carved S-scrolls centred by marriage initials GB and date 1723, with turned pendant finials overhanging either side. The recessed upper cupboard with horizontal fielded panel doors flanking a vertical fielded centre panel. The base section housing three drawers with applied edge moulding above two large panelled doors flanking a panelled centre. The plainer `kitchen` side having an offset door accessing the upper cupboard above two drawers and a panelled facade composed of ten panels set in two rows of five within a groove-moulded framework, 74 ins (188 cms) high, 67 ins (170 cms) wide, 27½ ins (70 cms) deep.

The uprights surmounted by pyramid finials and flanking an ornately carved back panel centred by a flowering plant with fanned bloom radiating foliage, tulip heads & roses. The swept arms raised on fine baluster supports above a planked seat and run moulded rails. The column turned legs joined by peripheral block stretchers.

A 17th Century Oak & Ash Chest on Stand. The break-front top with a beaded edge above a bulge front frieze drawer with central mirrored panel [worn]. The upper section having two short drawers applied with raised fielded panels flanking an open sliding compartment carved with a perspective interior concealing the secret recessed door behind. The lower section having three graduated long drawers inlaid with linked lunette stringing forming geometric patterns and studded with pewter roundels; each drawer divided by split turned beading. The stand boldly carved with a foliate twin-scroll apron, raised on six barley-twist legs joined by grove moulded stretchers 59 ins (150 cms) in height, 41 ins x 22 ins (105 cms x 56 cms).

A Fine 16th Century Oak Coffer. The thick twin-panel lid above a moulded triple-panel front. The centre panel carved with a guilloche knot encircling rosette whorls and flanked by simple parchemin panels enriched by incised ornamentation. Stamped on the top rail with the initials I.B. Standing on stile feet and measuring 27½ ins (70 cms) in height, 42 ins (107 cms) in width, 20 ins (51 cms) in depth.

The arms raised on reel turned supports leading down to the plank seat above a foliate lunette carved rail adjoining turned legs and peripheral block stretchers.

The head board having a lunette carved frieze of demi-lune flower-heads surmounting two small horizontal upper panels and two recessed principal panels inlaid with scrolling flowers & foliage and edged in moulding, above a dentil moulded candle ledge with three plain base panels below. The deep fluted muntins adorned with sunken reeds and interspersed with carved daisy wheels. The tester composed of nine lozenge carved panels and having a lunettes carved cavetto moulded cornice. The boldly turned foot posts united by a triple panel foot board and terminating on run-moulded block feet. 81 ins (206 cms) high, 81 ins (206 cms) in length, 54 ins (127 cms) in width.

The shallow strap-work uprights flanking the back panel centred by geometric inlaid chevron banding beneath a guilloche carved arch with foliate corner spandrels. The down swept arms with voluted ends resting on unusual cup & cover baluster supports enriched with layered petals above the run-moulded seat & similarly carved front legs; joined by peripheral block stretchers.
